Irwindale officers were called to investigate the suspicious vehicle parked in the area of Irwindale Avenue and the 210 freeway. As officers approached, the suspect took off and officers pursued him, according to the Irwindale Police Department. The suspect evading officers recklessly through Irwindale and Azusa. During the freeway portion of the chase a suspect use the right shoulder the bypass traffic and ran through traffic signals and curbs on surface streets. The driver, later identified as Cesar Nunez, 36, stopped in the 200 block of North Azusa Avenue in the city of Azusa and was taken into custody. County booking information was not readily available. The trio are accused of cutting the pricey device from a vehicle parked at a business in the 15700 block of Arrow Highway at 10:50 p.m. The victim was able to describe the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee to officers, who located and stopped the driver, according to the Irwindale Police Department. “Our officers located a Jeep matching the description provided by the victim in the area of Irwindale Avenue and 4th Street and initiated a traffic stop. After pulling to the curb, the Jeep suddenly fled as the officers approached the vehicle,” according to the Irwindale Police Department in a written statement. A pursuit led officers south from Irwindale Avenue and into West Covina where the Jeep Grand Cherokee collided with three other vehicles at Sunset Avenue and West Covina Parkway, Irwindale Police said. Two suspects were detained at the crash scene and a third fled to the West Covina Civic Center where West Covina officers detained him. “Officers located the victim’s catalytic converter inside the Jeep, along with various hand tools, power saws, saw blades and a rolling car jack,” Irwindale Police said. Arrested were Alfredo Paredes Ramirez, 35; Herbert Tecero, 38; and Lejoi Louise Mims, 38. The suspects face charges, including grand theft, possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property. Driver Alfredo Ramirez was additionally charged with felony evading and traffic related violations. “Due to COVID-19 booking restrictions, all three suspects were later released with citations to appear in court on a future date,” Irwindale Police said in a written statement. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor IRWINDALE - A suspect sought after recklessly fleeing Irwindale officers during a pursuit in 2019 was arrested this January after being identified. El Monte man Ivan Gonzalez, 28, was located in the City of Azusa January 22 by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Special Enforcement Team. Irwindale Police allege Gonzalez was the driver they pursued in February 2019 after he took off during a traffic stop. Officers cancelled the pursuit due to Gonzalez’s reckless driving, according to the Irwindale Police Department.
The driver fled in excess of 100 miles per hour and disappeared southbound on the 605 freeway. The California Highway Patrol later located the suspect vehicle crashed and abandoned on the 60 freeway at Crossroads Parkway, Irwindale Police said. Investigators obtained a search warrant in late 2020 after Gonzalez was identified, Irwindale Police said. Gonzalez, who is currently on Post Release Community Supervision, is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. He faces felony evading charges, Irwindale Police said. Officers attempted a traffic stop on the rider at Los Angeles Street and Azusa Canyon Road at 12:10 p.m., accusing him of a traffic infraction, according to Sgt. Vargas of the Irwindale Police Department. The rider sped away and led police on a high-speed pursuit along surface streets until the pursuit entered the westbound 210 freeway, sometimes at more than 100 miles per hour, Vargas said.
Due to unsafe speeds, officers ended the chase, Vargas said. The rider on a black motorcycle was last seen west on the 210 from the 605 freeway. Leslie Ryan Teeter, 26, was taken into custody after being medically cleared for booking December 14. Teeter was originally wanted for speeding, according to Sgt. Rudy Gatto the Irwindale Police Department. An officer attempted to stop Teeter on eastbound Arrow Highway at Maine Street around 12:14 a.m. Teeter refused to stop. Teeter sped in his silver 1998 Honda Accord, running red lights, stop signs and driving in opposing lanes of traffic, Gatto said. Teeter failed to negotiate a turn from southbound Motor Avenue to eastbound Gladstone Street and crashed into yellow pylons. Teeter struggled with officers before being taken into custody. He was booked on suspicion of felony evading police, resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license. Ezequiel Quintana, 22, was taken into custody without incident in the 5300 block of Roxburgh in unincorporated Azusa October 6 after ending the pursuit, according to Sgt. Arias of the Irwindale Police Department. Quintana was originally wanted for an equipment violation and officers attempted a traffic stop on Ornelas Street between Irwindale Avenue and Ayon at 8:43 p.m., Arias said. The rider refused to stop and led police on a brief chase through surface streets until he stopped for Irwindale officers. Quintana was booked on felony reckless evading officers and for improper licensing. He is scheduled to appear in Citrus Municipal Court in West Covina today, October 10. Ronald Analda Pasco, 30, was taken into custody near the 14000 block of Ohio Street Wednesday morning. He fled through several residential yards before being found and subdued, Irwindale Police said. The gold 2004 Nissan Frontier pickup truck was taken from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station patrol area earlier May 30. An Irwindale officer on routine picked up the LoJack signal around 8 a.m. near the 605 freeway and Los Angeles Street. Backup officers assisted and found the Frontier in the 4400 block of Stewart Street on the border with Baldwin Park, Irwindale Police said. Officers in unmarked police cars followed the Frontier until a traffic stop was initiated. Pasco took off on foot, Irwindale Police said. Pasco was taken into custody and later examined after being hit with a stun gun. He was medically cleared to be booked on suspicion taking a vehicle without the owner's consent, driving with a suspended California driver’s license,evading/resisting arrestand possession of a controlled substance. The stolen Frontier was recovered and released to the owner. Pasco is being held in lieu of $35,000 bail. Cayetano Chavez, 25, was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, felony evading, possessing stolen property and on an outstanding warrant, Irwindale Police said. The truck, a 2017 white GMC pickup, was taken from Montebello earlier Friday. The pursuit came to an end at 3:52 p.m., 28 minutes after OnStar notified Irwindale Police that a stolen pickup was being tracked at Arrow Highway and Calmview Street. Officers intercepted the truck at Arrow Highway and Azusa Canyon Road, Irwindale Police said. Chavez allegedly refused to pull over and led officers on a 3.7-mile pursuit, which drifted erratically from lane to lane at moderate to high speed. Chavez also allegedly ran multiple stop signs, Irwindale Police said. The truck was remotely disabled by OnStar after Chavez fled north on Avenida Barbosa and west on Alpha Street, stopping in the 700 block. Chavez was taken into custody without further incident. He was treated at the scene for a pre-existing medical condition. Chavez is being held in lieu of $75,000 bail and awaits a scheduled appearance at the West Covina Courthouse March 27.
