AZUSA - Two men accused of gunning down a male juvenile were struck by gunfire after fleeing the crime scene Tuesday night, Sheriff’s homicide detectives said.
Azusa Police officers found a man and 16-year-old boy dead after responding to a call of a gunshot victim in the 600 block of East 6th Street at 10:12 p.m. The additional victim was also found at the scene. He was later hospitalized and is expected to survive his injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The dead man and injured man are believed to be the suspects in the shooting.
Homicide detectives believe the two suspects targeted the juvenile and fired several rounds at him. He was struck at least once in the upper torso, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.
An unknown subject returned fire at the fleeing suspects. It is unclear who that subject is.
Two firearms were located and recovered, homicide detectives said.
