Man Escapes Azusa Police Search After Fleeing Traffic Stop

AZUSA - A search for a fleeing suspect turned up empty Saturday night.

It is unknown why the suspect fled from police who initiated a traffic stop at West 3rd Street and North Barbara Avenue December 1. A search of the area, aided by a police helicopter, turned up empty, according to Sgt. Erin Coulter of the Azusa Police Department.

The search began some time around 9 p.m.

The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle, Coulter said.

The search ended before 10:30 p.m.
