The fire burned in the attic in the 4800 block of North Marion Avenue around 2 p.m. One patient suffered unspecified burns and was hospitalized, said Dispatch Supervisor Melanie Flores of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Officers arrived on scene and found evidence of a honey oil extraction lab that caught fire, said Sgt. Shawn Blackburn of the Baldwin Park Police Department. No further information is available. The shooting took place in the 3600 block of San Gabriel River Parkway. Police were called to the shooting at 2:19 a.m., according to Lt. Mark Adams of the Baldwin Park Police Department. The victim is somewhat uncooperative with the investigation. Police have no suspect description, Adams said. There were apparently no other witnesses to the shooting. The sig alert affects the northbound 605 freeway connector road to the eastbound I-10 freeway. The No. 2, 3 and 4 lanes of traffic are affected by the spill. Drivers were seen using the right shoulder to pass, according to the California Highway Patrol. The semi overturned around 8:28 a.m. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor BALDWIN PARK - Two men were seen fleeing the scene of a shooting at Francisquito Avenue and Puente Avenue Sunday.
Police were dispatched to the call at 3:40 p.m. to the sound of gunfire. Officers located five shell casings on the street and damage to a vehicle door, according to Lt. Mark Adams of the Baldwin Park Police Department. Adams could only describe two suspects fleeing the area at the time of the shooting as male Hispanics resembling gang members. “We don’t have any victims identified and according to witnesses, no pedestrians in the area, so we don’t have a license plate for the suspect vehicle,” Adams said. “Nobody showed up at the hospitals with any injuries.” Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call the Baldwin Park Police Department at 626-960-1955. |
