The shooting took place on Olive Street near Lante Street around 11 p.m. A possible white or light-colored vehicle drove up to the intended victim and fired several rounds, said Sgt. Darryl Kosaka of the Baldwin Park Police Department. There were no other reports of injuries. No suspect description was available, Kosaka said. According to Baldwin Park Police radio traffic, the child, described as 11 years old, would be taken to receive medical treatment for the lacerations the following day. The fire destroyed a one-story, single-family home in the 12700 block of Bess Avenue. Firefighters were dispatched to the home at 7:09 p.m. and arrived six minutes later. The fire was knocked down in about 15 minutes, said Inspector Joey Marron of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A cause could not immediately be determined, so arson investigators were called to the scene. No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross was called to aid those displaced.  PHOTO/Stock image. The victim was taken to an area hospital. His current condition is unknown. A suspect description is not available, said. Sgt. Darryl Kosaka of the Baldwin Park Police Department. The stabbing occurred near the 7-Eleven, 3705 Puente Avenue, just before 11 p.m. Baldwin Park Police was notified of the stabbing after the victim was taken to the hospital, according to Baldwin Park Police radio traffic, but it is unclear if the hospital notified officers. Officers at the scene eventually found a blood trail. A motive for the stabbing was not immediately known. |
