Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - Baldwin Park Police arrested a man early Sunday after he recklessly blew through stop signs and red lights before fleeing into a home.
The unidentified man refused to stop for an officer who tried to pull him over for driving through a stop sign at Francisquito and Puente Avenue around 1:54 a.m. The suspect drove through Baldwin Park surface streets before entering La Puente, said Lt. Mark Adams of the Baldwin Park Police Department. The suspect continually circled the 13600 block of Nelson Avenue with Baldwin Park officers and a helicopter following him in La Puente. Officers knew he was ready to flee on foot as he shifted around in his vehicle, according to Baldwin Park Police radio traffic. The suspect then fled on foot and ran into a home after a woman opened the front door for him, according to Baldwin Park Police radio traffic. The suspect, identified as a La Puente-area gang member, was called out by officers until he and several others in the home surrendered, Adams said. Only the pursuit suspect was arrested. A report of the incident was not ready at the time this article was published. Booking information was not readily available. The suspect was booked on suspicion of felony evading, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license, Adams said. |
