Baldwin Park Police officers were called to a home in the 13600 block of Palm Avenue at 8 p.m. to a reported stabbing. The victim suffered wounds to her upper torso. She was declared dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. “During the investigation, the victim’s adult son was detained and subsequently placed under arrest,” according to the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau in a written statement. Dispatchers received a number of calls from drivers who saw the man standing on Baldwin Park Boulevard over the freeway just after 6 p.m. April 1. They were worried that he was going to jump. After a search, the man was found wounded on the eastbound offramp to Baldwin Park Boulevard, according to Sgt. Balzano of the Baldwin Park Police Department. The man suffered significant injuries. Balzano did not know what specific injuries the man received, only saying there was visible trauma. The man is reportedly in stable condition. The crash occurred in the area of Ramona Boulevard and Kenmore Avenue around 2:46 p.m. Monday, March 6. One person was transported to a trauma center, according to Dispatch Supervisor Bernard Peters of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A white sedan struck a tree near Ramona Boulevard and Kenmore Avenue. The victim, who died at the scene was described as being 16 years old, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department. All traffic lanes of Ramona Boulevard from Merced Avenue to Monterey Avenue are expected to be closed for a few more hours during the investigation. One or both suspects forced their way in through the side door to a home in the 4500 block of Maupin Avenue. The resident telephoned her family to call for police. One of the suspects took her phone away, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department. “The suspects then ransacked the home and left the location with several items from the residence. Officers were called to the 3700 block of Maine Avenue to a family disturbance around 1:45 p.m.January 30. The suspect allegedly had a weapon and threatened his family. Officers evacuated the family. The suspect fled on foot, followed by police, and eventually to St. John the Baptist School, 3870 Stewart Ave., which was already locked down, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department. The suspect was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered, although police did not describe what the weapon was. When is his report of the man, who they initially believed, was carrying a gun, in the area of Ramona Blvd., and Foster Street around 1:45 p.m. January 30. Officers arrived to search the area and found the suspect who attempted to flee, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department. After the suspect was detain, officers discovered that the weapon was a large dagger with a dark plastic handle. “Further investigation revealed that the male subject was also wanted for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The male subject was booked at BPPD Jail for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and the unlawful carrying of a large dagger,” according to the Baldwin Park Police Department in a written statement. Baldwin Park police responded to the area of Los Angeles Street and Merced Avenue December 16 around 2:40 p.m. The suspect was seen fleeing a wanted vehicle, forcing officers to conduct a perimeter search to find him, according to Sgt. M. Balzano of the Baldwin Park Police Department. The suspect search was called off around 5 p.m. Although a suspect vehicle was recovered, the reported armed man was never located, neither was a weapon, Balzano told SGV CityWatch. Nearby Charles Bursch Elementary School, 4245 Merced Avenue was placed on lockdown during the search. The suspects were mobile in a dark-colored SUV. At least one suspect used a handgun to threaten victims in all the crimes, authorities said. The as-of-yet unidentified suspects robbed at least three victims in Baldwin Park along Francisquito Avenue around Baldwin Park Boulevard, according to Sgt. Balzano of the Baldwin Park Police Department. In Baldwin Park, one robbery was reported at 9:14 p.m., a second at 9:43 p.m. and a third at 11:07 p.m. A handgun was used during the robberies. The suspects were able to get away with some stolen property, Balzano told SGV CityWatch, adding that he did not immediately know how many of the Baldwin Park robberies were successful. Investigators believe the same suspects attempted and failed to take a wallet from one victim at East Badillo Street and South First Avenue around 10:16 p.m., according to Sgt. Keith Sutherland of the Covina Police Department. At least one robbery attempt occurred in West Covina the same night. Multiple attempts to speak with a West Covina supervisor Thursday morning were unsuccessful. Baldwin Park officers located the suspects in the 3100 block of Syracuse Avenue and set a containment search with the help of a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s helicopter. After roughly two hours, the suspects were arrested, Balzano told SGV CityWatch. No victims in the Baldwin Park and Covina robberies were wounded. |
