The collision occurred on Badillo Street at Puente Avenue around 10:36 p.m. March 30. The Acura TSX was being driven eastbound when it somehow struck a tree in the center median of Badillo, according to Sgt. Esteban Manjarrez of the Baldwin Park Police Department. It is not yet publicly clear of what led up to the crash. Zifeng Lu was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. She died from blunt force trauma. The death was ruled accidental. Drugs and alcohol appeared to not play a factor in the crash, which occurred around 6:28 a.m. at Pacific Avenue and Puente Avenue. The rider, a West Covina man in his mid-60s, was westbound when he struck Lu, according to Sgt. David Leon of the Baldwin Park Police Department. Lu died at the scene. She was originally identified as 86 years old. The crash occurred around 6:28 a.m. March 24 at Pacific Avenue and Puente Avenue. The rider, a West Covina man in his mid-60s, was westbound when he struck the 86-year-old woman while she was in a crosswalk, according to Sgt. David Leon of the Baldwin Park Police Department. The woman died at the scene. BALDWIN PARK - A man reportedly wounded by gunfire later died after being hospitalized Saturday morning, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. First responders were called around 8:20 a.m. to the 3800 block of Puente Ave., March 19. The victim, described only as a male adult, was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. It is not yet clear if a suspect has been identified, or if a suspect is in custody yet. Officers responding to a call of a person down in a parking lot in the 12600 block of Ramona Boulevard around 9:39 p.m. He was pronounced dead after being hospitalized, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The Sheriff’s Department states there is no suspect or vehicle description. The Murder weapon is outstanding. The fire burned at a home in the 14700 block of Clark Street around 8:55 p.m. January 10. Both women were found unresponsive inside the home and were declared dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. One woman was only described as being in her 50s, the other in her 80s. Investigators are unclear if the fire was intentional. Arson investigators are determining the fire’s cause. Fabian Jamies Davalos, 21, allegedly crashed at an unsafe speed into the rear of a semi that slowed down for traffic on the westbound I-10 freeway west of Pacific Avenue August 28. The passenger was ejected in the crash and died at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol. The passenger was identified as 19-year-old Dayanna Tamayo. She died from blunt force head trauma, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The crash occurred around 3 a.m. The driver of a 2021 International A26 was in the No. 4 and began slowing for traffic due to a temporary construction closure affecting the HOV, No. 1 and 2 lanes of the I-10 freeway. Jamies Davalos, in a 2016 Honda Accord, slammed into the back of the International A26, according to the CHP. Jamies Davalos was treated for minor injuries at County/USC Medical Center. The semi’s driver was uninjured. A Sig Alert, issued at 3:41 a.m., affected the HOV, No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 lanes of traffic until 6:15 a.m. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor BALDWIN PARK - The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision Saturday that involved a semi trailer on the eastbound I-10 freeway just west of Pacific Avenue.
The collision occurred around 3 a.m. August 28. As officers arrived, they found one person had extricated themselves from the smashed vehicle. This person was found and tended to in the No. 1 lane of traffic, according to the California Highway Patrol. The person who extricated themselves was taken to County USC medical center. One other person died at the scene, the California Highway Patrol said. A Sig Alert for the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 lanes of the eastbound I-10 freeway was requested at 3:39 a.m. The semi and trailer that was crashed into was hauling an estimate and 35,000 to 40,000 pounds of boxes and linen, the California Highway Patrol said. Sandy Rocha, 36, died at the scene of the crash on the westbound I-10 freeway at Frazier Street. The collision occurred around 4:15 a.m. Rocha allegedly was speeding before the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol. Rocha drove a 2011 Hyundai. Rocha’s Hyundai became lodged under the rear of the tractor trailer after the crash. The driver of the 2013 Freightliner was uninjured, the CHP said. All westbound lanes were temporarily closed around 4:22 a.m. and by 4:26 a.m., the HOV and No. 1 lane were opened, according to CHP traffic logs. |
