A man and woman were found dead around 5:23 a.m. in the 3900 block of Kenmore Avenue December 4, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. The manner of death was not disclosed. The victim was found shot in the 4200 block of La Rica Avenue around 2 p.m. after officers responded to the location. The man was hospitalized and later died, according Deputy Armando Viera Jr. of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. There is no suspect description available. Firefighters were dispatched at 10:05 a.m. to the 4600 block of Maine Avenue near Cavette Place August 10, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Patient care was transferred to tactical medics with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau, which flew the patient to a local trauma center. Baldwin Park Police were unavailable to provide details on how the man was injured. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor BALDWIN PARK - Police, firefighters and Sheriff’s deputies responded to the discovery of what was later determined to be an airsoft toy landmine Friday.
The toy, which resembles a real landmine, was discovered near a donut shop in the 3700 block of Baldwin Park Boulevard around 11:20 a.m. according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Arson/Explosives Detective Miller and Los Angeles County Fire Inspector David Michael. Firefighters were called to the scene around 11:20 a.m. along with the Los Angeles County Fire Department Hazardous Material’s Division, Michael said. Firefighters located a static package and, with the help of Baldwin Park Police, secured a perimeter and people nearby sheltered in place, Michael said. Arson/Explosives technicians inspected the device on scene and determined it was merely an airsoft toy, Miller said. The Baldwin Park Police Department watch commander was unavailable to answer calls. Firefighters cleared the scene at 1:04 p.m. |
