The northbound Foothill Transit bus collided with the street sweeper, which was also northbound around 12:40 p.m. November 4. The bus was transporting only one passenger at the time, according to the Irwindale Police Department. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics treated all three patients who were eventually taken to nearby hospitals. It appears the Foothill Transit bus rear-ended the street sweeper, according to photos from the Irwindale Police Department. “The cause of this traffic collision remains under investigation, however it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision,” according to the Irwindale Police Department in a written statement. The collision occurred in the 14300 block of Arrow Highway around 3:35 a.m. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Ashley Stephanie Juarez of San Diego rolled her 2019 Kia Optima, which broke through a fence at the auto body shop, according to Sgt. Rudy Gatto of the Irwindale Police Department. Juarez and her 24-year-old passenger were taken to County/USC Medical Center. Their condition was not immediately known. Vehicles were damaged at CCLA Motors, 14340 Arrow Hwy. Juarez was not formally arrested due to being hospitalized Sunday, but was cited in the field. Filing of charges is pending completion of the investigation, Gatto told SGV CityWatch. All lanes of Longden Avenue between Live Oak Avenue and Myrtle Avenue will be closed likely into the late night for a traffic collision investigation, according to the Irwindale Police Department. The collision occurred around 5:11 p.m. June 11, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. No one else was involved in a crash. The rider died at the scene, according to Sgt. Rudy Gatto of the Irwindale Police Department. The vehicle crashed in the Buena Vista channel near Alpha Street and Bateman Avenue around 1:44 a.m. June 6. The driver alleges that a mechanical failure caused the vehicle to veer off the road, according to the Irwindale Police Department. A heavy duty tow truck was required to lift the car out of the flood control channel. Although the driver alleged a mechanical failure caused the crash, investigators are still determining what happened. IRWINDALE - The California Highway Patrol has shut down all southbound lanes of the 605 freeway north of Lower Azusa Road until further notice after a vehicle crashed into the center divider after a possible shooting. The CHP was called around 5:13 p.m. to investigate the crash of a white BMW into the center divider, according to Officer Elizabeth Kravig of the California Highway Patrol. Preliminary information from CHP radio traffic indicates that the vehicle was hit possibly twice, causing damage to the windshield. Officers are now combing the freeway to look for any possible bullet casings, But it is not clear exactly what could have hit the BMW. While Kravig understands that the crash may have resulted from a possible shooting, she has yet to confirm with officers in the field if a shooting did occur. There has been no confirmation on injuries. A vehicle possibly tied to this incident is a blue or black sedan. The Irwindale Police Department has been called to assist with blocking traffic from entering the on ramp at Lower Azusa Road. A tow truck has been requested to haul away the victims vehicle for evidence, according to California Highway Patrol radio traffic. Officers responded to the crash at Live Oak Avenue and Arrow Highway at 3:08 p.m. April 10 and found a blue Honda Accord collided with a palm tree in the center divider. Two 15-year-old girls were found injured inside, according to the Irwindale Police Department. One girl was critically injured. One teen told investigators that she was driving, but after being re-interviewed at the hospital, the girl recanted her story, Irwindale Police said. “…She recanted her story, admitting that her stepfather was driving the vehicle at the time of the collision and that he fled the location on foot before the police arrived, leaving the two injured juveniles alone at the scene,” according to the Irwindale Police Department in a written statement. Investigators identified the actual driver as Alexander Ramos, a 41-year-old convicted felon and parolee. An arrest warrant was obtained and with the help of Ramos’ parole agent, his surrender was negotiated on the warrant, Irwindale Police said. Ramos surrendered April 12. He was booked on suspicion of felony hit and run causing injury or death, felony child endangerment and violating the terms of his parole. The other teen wounded is related to Ramos, but the exact relation was not immediately known. The trio are accused of cutting the pricey device from a vehicle parked at a business in the 15700 block of Arrow Highway at 10:50 p.m. The victim was able to describe the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee to officers, who located and stopped the driver, according to the Irwindale Police Department. “Our officers located a Jeep matching the description provided by the victim in the area of Irwindale Avenue and 4th Street and initiated a traffic stop. After pulling to the curb, the Jeep suddenly fled as the officers approached the vehicle,” according to the Irwindale Police Department in a written statement. A pursuit led officers south from Irwindale Avenue and into West Covina where the Jeep Grand Cherokee collided with three other vehicles at Sunset Avenue and West Covina Parkway, Irwindale Police said. Two suspects were detained at the crash scene and a third fled to the West Covina Civic Center where West Covina officers detained him. “Officers located the victim’s catalytic converter inside the Jeep, along with various hand tools, power saws, saw blades and a rolling car jack,” Irwindale Police said. Arrested were Alfredo Paredes Ramirez, 35; Herbert Tecero, 38; and Lejoi Louise Mims, 38. The suspects face charges, including grand theft, possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property. Driver Alfredo Ramirez was additionally charged with felony evading and traffic related violations. “Due to COVID-19 booking restrictions, all three suspects were later released with citations to appear in court on a future date,” Irwindale Police said in a written statement. The investigation is underway on westbound Arrow Highway west of 4th Street. The collision was reported to Irwindale Police at 4:05 a.m., Gatto told SGV CityWatch. Eastbound Arrow Highway between Irwindale Avenue and Azusa Canyon Road will remain closed for possibly several more hours. Javier Prado, 31, was found after investigators located his Ford F-150 Raptor in the 1100 block of Newburgh Street in Azusa. He was arrested without incident, according to the Irwindale Police Department. Prado was booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and was held in lieu of $50,000 bail, Irwindale Police said. Prado is accused of fatally striking a pedestrian in northbound lanes of North Irwindale Avenue at the 210 freeway just before 5:30 a.m. February 9. A passerby reported a man down on the asphalt, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Firefighter paramedics worked on the victim and transported him to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center where he later died. The victim’s identity is not yet publicly revealed. He is only described as being in his 50s, according to Sarah Ardalani, public information officer for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Prado was issued a citation and released at 5:30 p.m. He is scheduled to appear in the West Covina courthouse February 16, according to Los Angeles County booking records. Based on the evidence and witness accounts gathered at the scene, the pedestrian was struck in northbound lanes of Irwindale Avenue at the 210 freeway around 5:28 a.m February 9, according to Sgt. Rudy Gatto of the Irwindale Police Department. The driver of a grey 2015-2017 Ford F-150 Raptor fled the scene. The truck should have front end damage on the right side, Irwindale Police said. First responders found the male victim on the pavement. He suffered significant traumatic Injuries. Firefighters treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to a nearby trauma center. He later succumbed to his injuries, Gatto said. Firefighters were called by a passerby who reported seeing the man already down in lanes of traffic at 5:26 a.m. Traffic lanes on Irwindale Avenue at the 210 freeway were mostly closed for about six hours while members of the Irwindale Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit processed the scene with help from the Covina Police Department and Azusa Police Department. The victim’s personal belongings, including his shoes, were left strewn across the roadway.
