Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor BALDWIN PARK - A 21-year-old man and two teens were arrested after the attempted to rob another teen at gunpoint, a Baldwin Park Police sergeant said. The robbery attempt occurred around 2:58 p.m. in the 400 block of Filhurst March 22. The three suspects escaped on foot after failing to take any property and were found and detained by officers, according to Sgt. Gonzalez of the Baldwin Park Police Department. Officers located the handgun used in the robbery attempt, Gonzalez said. The victim reportedly called his mother who drove to the area. She was tracking the suspects while talking with dispatchers when she struck one of the fleeing teens, Gonzalez said. Whether the collision was intentional or accidental, Gonzalez did not know. The teen was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
The adult suspect was identified as 21-year-old Brian Paul. He was booked on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, possessing a loaded firearm in a public place, possession of a high-capacity magazine, conspiracy to commit a crime, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, Gonzalez said. Paul is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail ahead of a scheduled apeparance in court March 24. The teen suspects were released to their parents, Gonzalez said. |
