Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor BALDWIN PARK - A loaded gun was recovered from a rooftop after a man wanted for questioning in a hospital shooting was arrested after a brief foot chase Wednesday, Baldwin Park Police said.
The man was sought in the shootout in a parking lot at Kaiser Permanente - Baldwin Park September 2. Police located and arrested the man in the 13100 block of Amar Road with help from community members who reported seeing a possible suspect in the area, Baldwin Park Police said. The suspect’s name is not being released yet due to the ongoing investigation, according to Sgt. Gamboa of the Baldwin Park Police Department. Gamboa added that the only crime the suspect was booked on at this time is for a parole violation. “He hasn’t been formally charged with anything else, because the investigation is still ongoing,” Gamboa told SGV CityWatch. A shootout between two suspects forced the brief lockdown of Kaiser Permanente - Baldwin Park Wednesday. One man wounded in the shootout drove himself to a different hospital where he was eventually met by police. The shooting was reported in front of the patient drop-off at Kaiser Permanente - Baldwin Park, 1011 Baldwin Park Blvd., around 8:08 a.m. “One of the males shot at a second adult male multiple times with an unknown caliber firearm wounding him at least once. The second male returned fire with an unknown caliber firearm,” according to the Baldwin Park Police Department in a written statement. The wounded suspect has been identified, but his name has not been released, Baldwin Park Police said. |
