Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA - Police continue to look for an armed robbery suspect who took a cell phone outside a restaurant.
The robbery occurred outside Pepe’s, 517 W. Valley Blvd. around 9:25 p.m. The victim was talking on his phone when he heard someone addressing him. After turning around to see who walk talking to him, he saw the suspect aiming a gun at the victim’s face, Alhambra Police said. The suspect order the victim to empty his pockets and he complied. The victim was ordered to turn around and don’t look back, or he would be shot, Alhambra Police said. Alhambra Police did not state what the victim lost. The suspect is a Hispanic man, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 200 pounds, has a stocky build, short buzzed hair, a dark complexion and tattoos on both arms. The car wash, 2015 Valley Blvd., was burglarized around 3:45 a.m. One suspect pried open three bill dispensers while the second suspect acted as a lookout, Alhambra Police said. Alhambra Police did not state how much cash, or if any cash at all was taken. The suspects fled in a silver two-door vehicle, possibly a Toyota Corolla. One suspect is a Hispanic man, 30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 200 pounds and has a shaved head, heavy build and wore a red t-shirt and camouflage pants. The second suspect is a Hispanic man, 25 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 pounds, has a medium build and wore a red and white hat, black t-shirt and blue jeans. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA - The 60-year-old woman who made national headlines after leaving a child inside a scorching SUV for two hours entered a plea in court Friday. Helen Siuhung Law pleaded not guilty to one felony count of child abuse in the June 12 crime in Alhambra.
Law is scheduled to appear in Alhambra Superior Court August 30 for a preliminary hearing. Law faces a maximum of six years in state prison if convicted as charged.
