CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA - A Rosemead man was arrested, accused of cutting up two roommates during fisticuffs at dinner time. One victim was stabbed in a bicep, the other was stabbed in one of his forearms. The fisticuffs unfolded in the kitchen and one of the victims attempted to intervene, leading to a double stabbing, according to the Alhambra Police Department. The incident occurred July 11 near East El Molino Street and North Grand Avenue. After the attack, the suspect fled in an unknown direction, but Alhambra Police detectives tracked down 41-year-old Lihua Peng after locating his car in El Monte. He was arrested during a traffic stop. Peng was officially charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and a special allegation of causing great bodily injury, according to Los Angeles Superior Court records. Peng has since appeared twice in court and pleaded not guilty. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA - A stolen vehicle suspect was followed on the I-10 freeway into El Monte early Tuesday and arrested.
Officers identified the stolen vehicle around the I-10 freeway and Garfield Avenue around 3:30 a.m. November 22. The driver entered the freeway east into El Monte. The vehicle was spotted in the 3300 block of Meeker Avenue, according to Lt. Fuentes of the Alhambra Police Department. Fuentes described the stolen vehicle as a Mercedes-Benz. The suspect walked away from the vehicle when officers arrived. He was found and taken into custody, Fuentes told SGV CityWatch. A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s helicopter was called and searched the surrounding area for any other suspects, but no one suspicious was found. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor EL MONTE - The driver of a stolen vehicle was hospitalized Wednesday after crashing into cement barriers while evading an Alhambra officer. The suspect was being followed by east on the I-10 freeway from Alhambra to as far as Baldwin Avenue where the officer lost sight of the suspect who took to surface streets, Alhambra Police said. The officer originally saw the suspect perform a traffic violation just before 11 p.m. ar Fremont Avenue and Montezuma in Alhambra and soon discovered through a license plate check the vehicle was stolen, Alhambra Police said.
The suspect was followed by police just before 11 p.m. Alhambra officers located the mangled wreck of a that collided into K-rails at El Monte Station, 3501 Santa Anita Ave. Los Angeles County Firefighters had to extricate the driver from the heavily damaged vehicle. |
