CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA - Investigators arrested two suspects during a robbery and stolen vehicle investigation. During a search of a residential property, investigators discovered two more stolen vehicles unrelated to the initial crimes, according to the Alhambra Police Department. The suspects were arrested July 10 and the vehicles were recovered in Rosemead. The victim of the vehicle theft in Alhambra was walking back to his car after a gym sesh near South 3rd Street and West Main Street when unknown suspects approached. A weapon was pointed at him. his personal belongings were taken and his vehicle driven in an unknown direction, according to the Alhambra Police Department. Jesus Carreon, 20, and Clara Garcia, 56, both Rosemead residents. Carreon is being held in lieu of $175,000 bail at the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic. He is scheduled for an appearance in Alhambra Superior Court August 11. Garcia was issued a citation and released. CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA - Two men from Los Angeles were caught in a stolen vehicle through the help of an Apple AirTag. Officers tracked the AirTag signal to an alley in Los Angeles June 19 and two suspects were found chillin’ inside, allegedly found with keys used to start the car, methamphetamine, non-prescribed Adderall, pepper spray and a meth pipe, according to the Alhambra Police Department. The owner of a black sedan parked her vehicle and locked it, but discovered it was stolen sometime later that same day, according to the Alhambra Police Department. Arrested were Mario Alfredo Huitron and Honorio De La Torre. Huitron, 31, was charged June 23 with receiving a stolen vehicle and additionally charged for having a prior auto theft conviction. He pleaded not guilty, according to Los Angeles Superior Court records. De La Torre, 36, was issued a citation and released, according to Los Angeles County booking records. CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA - A Long Beach teen was arrested recently with the help of a police drone. Officers located the stolen vehicle while patrolling Westmont Drive and West Valley Boulevard. After a drone was deployed, the vehicle was located near Alhambra Road and Huntington Drive, but the driver refused commands to stop, according to the Alhambra Police Department. The suspect fled at high speed and eventually abandoned the vehicle, attempting to blend in by casually walking in plain sight somewhere along Palm Avenue, but the drone pointed officers to the suspect who was then cuffed and hauled away. CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA - Is that a machete in your pocket, or are you happy to see me? A man was arrested November 19, allegedly caught with a sweet blade tucked into his trousers. Officers responded to a call of a man laying on the ground near 25 N. Stoneman Ave. They discovered the man, 33-year-old Anthony Roderick Bell, is on probation for auto theft with search and seizure terms, according to the Alhambra Police Department. “Officers searched the suspect, they found a large machete concealed inside his front waistband,” according to the Alhambra Police Department in a written statement. Bell claimed the machete is his sports weapon, according to the Alhambra Police Department. Bell was arrested, then issued a citation and released. CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA - A man and woman were arrested October 22, allegedly found occupying a stolen ride. Deshawn Lamar Dafney and Mary Johnson were stopped in the area of Mission Road and Meridian Avenue. During a search after a high-risk traffic stop, officers reportedly discovered narcotics and stolen identification in Dafney’s possession. Dafney, a Lancaster man, was booked on suspicion of possessing narcotics, possessing stolen identification and had a warrant for a parole violation. Deputies near the I-10 freeway and Fremont Avenue attempted to stop the vehicle around 7:44 p.m. after learning it was stolen. The driver led police on a chase along surface streets into Alhambra, according to Lt. Hernandez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. Deputies ended the chase after losing sight of the vehicle. Deputies were soon notified that a man and woman were seen running in the area of North Bushnell Avenue and Larch Street, but a perimeter search was fruitless. The stolen vehicle information revealed whoever took the ride was considered armed and dangerous, Hernandez told SGV CityWatch. The driver, Anwar Josue Ramos, fled Alhambra officers from South 9th Street and Front Street around 4:10 a.m. April 25 after they tried to pull him over after discovering the vehicle he was driving was stolen, according to Lt. Tai Seki of the Alhambra Police Department. The pursuit wound its way through Alhambra surface streets, on the I-10 freeway into the east Los Angeles area where the pursuit continued on surface streets. Ramos drove the stolen vehicle into a Burger King parking lot at 535 S. Atlantic Blvd. where he was taken into custody, Seki told SGV CityWatch. The vehicle was reported stolen to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Pico Rivera Station April 24, Seki told SGV CityWatch, Ramos, a 30-year-old Los Angeles resident, was booked on suspicion of grand theft auto and felony evading police. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA - A motorcyclist was jailed Tuesday morning after losing control of his ride and crashing, police said. The unidentified rider accelerated and ran a stop sign in the area of Pine and Maguerita around 4 a.m. May 14 while an officer in the area attempted to keep the rider in his sight. The rider lost control of the motorcycle and crashed, Alhambra Police said.
The rider sustained some injuries, was detained, eventually hospitalized and jailed after officers learned the motorcycle was stolen out of Monterey Park, Alhambra Police said. |
