Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ALHAMBRA - Officers discovered the bodies of a man and woman inside their home April 20 after receiving a call from a concerned citizen who had not heard from the couple in days.
The deaths were discovered in a single-family home in the 900 block of North Almansor Street. Police were called to check on the residence at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. While checking the home, officers found an unlocked back door with no signs of forced entry and went inside where they found the bodies, according to the Alhambra Police Department. “The initial investigation indicates the female was a homicide victim and the male committed suicide. Evidence located at the scene indicates this was a murder/suicide and it is believed there is no risk to the public,” according to the Alhambra Police Department in a written statement. Susie Lee Yeh and David Yeh, both 56, were identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Examinations have not yet been scheduled. The pedestrian, described as a 60 to 65-year-old woman, was hit around 2:13 p.m. at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and San Marino Avenue April 11. A driver made a left turn from westbound San Marino Avenue to southbound Garfield Avenue and struck the pedestrian who suffered major injuries, according to the Alhambra Police Department. The woman was transported to a hospital and later died. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with traffic investigators. Any witnesses to this collision, or anyone who may have additional information is urged to call the Alhambra Police Department Traffic Section at 626-570-5119. Officers responded to a gunfire call just before 9:30 p.m. to South Almansor Street and East Bay Street. They found a Black man in his 40s with gunshot wounds to his upper torso and still alive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The man was taken to a hospital and later declared dead. Anyone with information on this shooting is urged to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department at 323-890-5500.
