ALHAMBRA - A 59-year-old El Monte man is behind bars, accused of shooting to death his co-worker at a Chinese-language newspaper.
Zhong Qi Chen was booked on suspicion of murder with a firearm, according to the Alhambra Police Department.
Chen is accused of shooting his co-worker multiple times at the China Press offices, 2121 W. Mission Rd. just before 9:30 a.m.
A handgun was recovered at the scene.
Chen is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. His scheduled court date is November 20 at Alhambra Municipal Court, according to Los Angeles County booking records.
