Woman Found Dead Near Alhambra Golf Course

ALHAMBRA - An Asian woman without any apparent injuries was found dead near a flood control channel Friday afternoon.

Officers arriving to check on the woman’s welfare near the Alhambra Golf Course, 603 S. Almansor St., January 17 found her unconscious near an access road to the flood control channel. She was declared dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Her cause of death was not immediately apparent, deputies said.

“Investigators believe the victim may be a woman reported missing from San Gabriel in recent days,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau in a written statement. “At this time, the victim has not been positively identified and her name will not be released pending that identification by the coroner and notification to her family.”
