Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor EL MONTE - Police continue to search for a driver who fled the scene of a violent crash that left a young boy critically injured. The crash occurred January 18 around 9:30 p.m. at Garvey Avenue and Washington Avenue. One vehicle broadsided another. A 12-year-old boy was ejected in the crash, according to the El Monte Police Department. The driver of a blue Chevrolet Suburban fled the crash and remains out of custody, El Monte Police said.
The boy, initially listed in critical condition was upgraded to stable, El Monte Police said. Two other occupants received minor injuries. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor EL MONTE – Sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing death of a man January 15. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene in the 4400 block of Baldwin Avenue. Although a Sheriff’s press release listed the time of the reported stabbing as 7 a.m., firefighters were called by deputies at 7:20 a.m. to Baldwin Avenue between Lower Azusa Road and Gidley Street for a cardiac arrest victim. Firefighters arrived on scene and declared the victim dead on arrival six minutes later, according to Austin Bennett of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The Sheriff’s Department has yet to provide more details regarding the stabbing death.
Just after 8 a.m., El Monte Police had all lanes of Baldwin Avenue blocked between Lower Azusa and Valley Boulevard. |
