Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor EL MONTE - A fire inside a vacant commercial building was knocked down at 5:19 p.m., firefighters said. The fire burned in a vacant 50-foot by 80-foot dentistry office, 3701 Santa Anita Ave., just after 5 p.m. May 16. Flames were extinguished by 5:19 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Detectives have not established a motive yet for the shooting.
Officers responded to 7-Eleven, 10008 Valley Blvd., at 10:17 p.m. April 26 and found Rosas dead of multiple gunshot wounds. He died in the parking lot, according to Lt. Chris Cano of the El Monte Police Department. Rosas reportedly was trying to break up a fight when he was shot twice. |
