CityWatch Editor EL MONTE - One person was declared dead in an El Monte neighborhood Tuesday evening. First responders were sent to the 10500 block of Bisby Street, around 6:30 p.m., June 18. The victim, only described as a male adult, was found at the location, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The apparent cause of death was not immediately shared. Broadcast traffic from the Los Angeles County Fire Department briefly detailed a room by room search at the location by El Monte police officers who discovered one person down. Firefighters stood by until the scene was secured for them to go in and begin treating the patient. It is not immediately clear, if investigators have determined a motive, or have acquired a suspect description. El Monte Police officers responding to a assault with a deadly weapon call in the 11000 block of Ranchito Street discovered the body of a 40 to 45-year-old woman. She suffered from multiple stab wounds. Paramedics declared her dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. First responders were sent to the location just before 5 p.m. Sunday, October 22. The suspect, only described as a Latino woman 20 to 25 years old, was detained outside of the residence. She was later taken into custody. A potential murder weapon was found at the scene. It is not publicly clear if investigators have determined a motive. Deputies and K9s inspected the train, line 318 to San Bernardino Downtown, after evacuating passengers and found no explosive devices, according to Scott Johnson, Metrolink spokesperson. The incident occurred sometime before 3:30 p.m. The suspect was detained by authorities, Johnson told SGV CityWatch. At least one train was canceled. Around 4:40 p.m., authorities allowed the tracks to be reopened and trains that were not canceled were moving once again, although heavily delayed. Authorities and Los Angeles County firefighters responded to the bus terminal, 3501 Santa Anita Ave., at 5:54 p.m. to a report of an unresponsive person. Firefighters were unable to revive the man and he was declared dead at the scene, according to Lt. Hebb of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau. The man was found near bus bay 29, Hebb told SGV CityWatch. It is unclear how long the man was there before being discovered. “The City of El Monte is saddened and shocked by tonight’s tragic shooting that killed two of our own police officers,” according to city officials. Officers were responding to a reported stabbing at the Siesta Inn, 10237 Garvey Ave., and immediately came under fire upon arrival, according to El Monte officials. “There are no words to describe our grief and devastation by this senseless act as we learned about the passing of two of our police officers. It weighs heavy on our hearts and we are sending our support to their families,” according to a joint statement by the City of El Monte, El Monte Police Department and El Monte Police Officers Association. A large crime scene is being taped off around 10327 Garvey Avenue as El Monte officers and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies work to contain the area. The officer’s condition is not publicly known. The status of the downed suspect is not yet known. A second Officer May have been wounded. El Monte officers are checking for possible wounded people at the Siesta Inn Motel, 10327 Garvey Avenue. The suspect’s family has arrived to the scene. Andrew Valencia, 31, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. He died of a gunshot wound to the chest. His death was ruled a homicide. Valencia was found wounded, but still alive in the 3000 block of Allgeyer Avenue May 5. Firefighters and El Monte Police officers were called around 4:50 a.m. He was taken to a hospital and later declared dead. Valencia was found laying to the side of a road near a business. Surveillance footage apparently revealed a dark-colored sedan was driven to the location and Valencia was pushed out of the vehicle, leading investigators to believe he was shot elsewhere.
