The victim, only described as a Hispanic man, was found suffering gunshot wounds in the 4500 block of Peck Road around 8:44 p.m. May 3. He later died after being hospitalized, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. El Monte Police are being assisted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau in determining a suspect and motive.

22-year-old David Lemus-Orellana is being held in lieu of $1 million bail in the death of Florida Velasquez-Hernandez. The woman’s body was found in the 3300 block of Maxson Road Tuesday, February 4, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The motive for the murder is unknown, the Sheriff’s Department said. El Monte Police responded to calls of a man dragging a woman’s body to some dumpsters just before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and arriving officers made the grim discovery. Authorities eventually interviewed witnesses and had a possible suspect detained. It is unclear if the initial suspect is Lemus-Orellana. The man was found on the ground, suffering a gunshot wound to the upper torso in the 4000 block of Peck Road around 1:20 a.m. December 12. He was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. “Detectives are canvassing the area for potential witnesses and video surveillance that could have captured the incident,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Officers responded to 7-Eleven, 10008 Valley Blvd., at 10:17 p.m. April 26 and found Rosas dead of multiple gunshot wounds. He died in the parking lot, according to Lt. Chris Cano of the El Monte Police Department. Rosas reportedly was trying to break up a fight when he was shot twice. Angel Rosas was identified by Lt. David Smith of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Police responded to 7-Eleven, 10008 Valley Blvd., at 10:17 p.m. April 26 and found the victim dead of at least two gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Rosas died in the parking lot.
