Joseph Castle, 44, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. He died of multiple gunshot wounds. The manner of death was homicide. Officers responded to 600 block of West Bridwell Street around 8:10 a.m. to numerous calls of a shooting, according to the Glendora Police Department. One victim, Castle, was found shot and still seated in a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. Arrow High School, 1505 S. Sunflower Ave., was briefly locked down as a precaution. Officers responded to the school and arrested the unnamed student on suspicion of criminal threats, according to the Glendora Police Department. Juan Antonio Armenta, 45, was spotted in the 1000 block of East Route 66 September 7. He was followed as he drove into a nearby neighborhood where he shut off his headlights. A vehicle search during a traffic stop revealed a treasure trove of items. “The vehicle was searched and five cut catalytic converters, an angle grinder and drug paraphernalia were located,” according to the Glendora Police Department in a written statement. Armenta was booked on suspicion of grand theft, possession of burglary tools, possession of drug paraphernalia and for an outstanding arrest warrant. He is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail ahead of a scheduled appearance in the West Covina Courthouse Friday, September 9, according to Los Angeles County booking records. |
