The driver died at the scene of the crash on eastbound Foothill Boulevard west of Pennsylvania Avenue. The crash occurred around 3:08 p.m. March 31. The driver is Cynthia Louise Dudley, a 66-year-old Azusa resident. Other than blunt trauma, no other cause or other significant conditions were listed. The crash was deemed an accident, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. The Glendora Police Major Accident Investigation Team preliminarily believes impairment was not a factor and Dudley was possibly traveling at the posted 40-mile-per-hour speed limit, according to Lt. Mike Henderson of the Glendora Police Department. Dudley was the only occupant in the crashed vehicle. A second vehicle was involved in the crash, but no one else suffered injuries, Henderson told SGV CityWatch. The 65-year-old man was found dead inside his RV in the store’s lot, 1788 S. Barranca Ave. First responders were called at 4:37 p.m. who declared the man dead, according to Lt. Mike Henderson of the Glendora Police Department. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner will determine cause of death. Family of the dead man agreed to arrange to have the RV towed from the 99 Cents Only Store lot. It remained there as of Sunday, May 7. Officers and Los Angeles County firefighters responded to the 200 block of South Vista Bonita Avenue around 8:49 p.m. Officers were called to a report of gunfire heard and located the wounded man. The vehicle is parked on the street, according to Lt. Mike Henderson of the Glendora Police Department. The 200 block of Vista Bonita remains closed for a death investigation. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA – Regional traffic collision investigators are determining what led to a crash between a motorcycle and SUV that killed a Claremont man October 4. Luke Pruitt, a 19-year-old Claremont resident, was the motorcyclist who died at the crash scene at Grand Avenue and Mauna Loa Avenue, according to Sarah Ardalani, public information officer with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Pruitt, a Claremont High School graduate, is listed as a defensive lineman with the Citrus College football team and was playing in his sophomore year with the community college. Multiple 9-1-1 calls were made about the injury crash, which occurred around 11:23 a.m. Paramedics performed life-saving measures on Pruitt, according to Sgt. Michael Henderson of the Glendora Police Department. Pruitt was in his second season playing with the Owls and one of the Owls' team captains, According to a statement from the Citrus College Athletics program. "Luke was a defining presence for our program," according to Citrus College Head Football Coach Brandon Hayashi in a written statement. "He was a leader on and off the field, always greeting everyone with a big smile. We are devastated by this loss." Traffic collision investigators from the La Verne and Azusa Police departments assisted Glendora detectives with the investigation, Henderson told SGV CityWatch. Joseph Castle, 44, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. He died of multiple gunshot wounds. The manner of death was homicide. Officers responded to 600 block of West Bridwell Street around 8:10 a.m. to numerous calls of a shooting, according to the Glendora Police Department. One victim, Castle, was found shot and still seated in a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. Donna Emery, 55, was the woman found dead at Finkbiner Park, 160 N. Wabash Ave. May 23. Her cause of death was deferred, pending additional investigation, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Police and firefighters were called to the park at 1:08 p.m. It was not immediately clear where the death occurred at the park, or what led Glendora Police officers to quickly deduce that it was a suicide. Police were called to Finkbiner Park, 160 N. Wabash Ave., on a reported suicide at 1:08 p.m. A deceased female was located. The area was taped off from the public for coroner investigators to work, according to the Glendora Police Department. The woman was described as being in her 50s. Her identity is being withheld until next of kin are notified, according to Sarah Ardalani, public information officer with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. It was not immediately clear where the death occurred at the park, or what led Glendora Police officers to quickly deduce that it was a suicide. Los Angeles County firefighters and Glendora officers were called to an unresponsive man in a vehicle in the 600 block of South Pasadena Avenue at 5:44 p.m. April 17. Firefighters declared the man dead at the scene, according to Sgt. Stein of the Glendora Police Department. The man was identified as 33-year-old German Temiquel Castro. The cause of death has been deferred, pending additional investigation, according to Lt. Brian Kim of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Stein had no other details regarding the death, or potential causes. Fischer may have been dead in the van for possibly a few days before being discovered. Officers were called to investigate the U-Haul van after a person noticed a large amount of flies around the vehicle and liquids coming from it, according to Lt. Chris Stabio of the Glendora Police Department Investigations Bureau in a previous interview. Officers were called around 9:39 a.m. September 14 to investigate the Econoline U-Haul van in the 700 block of East Claraday Street, according to Lt. Marty Barrett of the Glendora Police Department. The person may have been dead in the van for possibly a few days before being discovered. Officers were called to investigate the U-Haul van after a person noticed a large amount of flies around the vehicle and liquids coming from it, according to Lt. Chris Stabio of the Glendora Police Department Investigations Bureau. The caller also said they thought they saw a person inside the U-Haul van. The victim is described as a man. He was pronounced dead at 9:56 a.m., according to Sarah Ardalani of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Officers were called around 9:39 a.m. to investigate the Econoline U-Haul van in the 700 block of East Claraday Street, according to Lt. Marty Barrett of the Glendora Police Department. At this point in the investigation, detectives do not believe the death resulted from anything criminal, Stabio told SGV CityWatch.
