Kevin Fernandez, 27, and Ahmad Ibrahim, 29, were booked at the Glendora jail. Fernandez, identified as a Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang member, was booked on suspicion of aggravated mayhem and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury. Ibrahim was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and being a felony accessory after the fact, according to the Glendora Police Department. A stabbing was reported to police at Britestar Tavern, 731 W. Route 66, just before 12:30 a.m. May 22. One person was severely wounded. The suspects fled before officers arrived, according to the Glendora Police Department. Shortly after the Glendora stabbing, two suspects fled the scene of a stabbing at Elvie’s Inn, 610 Shopper’s Ln., in Covina. After Fernandez and Ibrahim were identified, Glendora detectives, assisted by Covina Police and Azusa Police detectives, located the duo and took them into custody. Ibrahim posted bond. Fernandez is being held at the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles in lieu of more than $1.1 million bail ahead of scheduled appearance in the West Covina Courthouse July 1. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA – A pursuit suspect and his passenger were arrested Wednesday morning after fleeing Covina Police into Glendora.
The driver crashed at the end of the vehicle pursuit, leaving his female passenger behind near the 210 freeway and Sunflower Avenue. The suspect reportedly fled into a home occupied by a resident, according to Lt. Tony Zavala of the Covina Police Department. Covina patrol officers attempted to stop the driver of a 1990s Honda Civic at Barranca Avenue and Covina Boulevard around 11:16 a.m. March 23. The Civic was reported stolen Tuesday in Whittier, Zavala told SGV CityWatch. The driver surrendered and was taken into custody around 11:41 a.m. The passenger was also arrested, Zavala told SGV CityWatch. Both suspects are facing grand theft auto charges. The driver will additionally face felony evading and burglary charges, Zavala told SGV CityWatch. The suspects’ names are not yet available as officers are still confirming their identification. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - The driver of a vehicle parked suspiciously behind Sam's Club was arrested after he fled police on a multi-city chase Saturday morning.
Joseph Milan Kamzik, 37, from Moreno Valley, was arrested after he ended the pursuit at Foothill Church of Glendora, 901 S. Grand Ave. at 5:54 a.m. Kamzik was booked on suspicion of felony evading police, driving under the influence of drugs, possessing unlawful paraphernalia, an outstanding warrant and a parole violation, according to the Glendora Police Department. Police were called to Sam’s Club, 1301 S. Lone Hill Ave., sometime after 4 a.m. on a reported suspicious vehicle parked behind the business, according to Sgt. Ryan Layaye of the Glendora Police Department. “Officers attempted to contact the subject and he immediately fled,” Layaye said. A slow speed pursuit went through surface streets across Glendora, Azusa and Covina. Kamzik allegedly ran red lights, ignored stop signs and drove in opposing lanes, Layaye said. Kamzik was arrested without incident. Kamzik is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail at the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles. He is scheduled to appear in Pomona Municipal Court November 20, according to Los Angeles County booking records. |
