Hershey was found in a parked, black Mercedes-Benz sedan on the right shoulder of the east 210 freeway west of Citrus Avenue around 1:30 p.m. The California Highway Patrol was called to a passerby report of a unresponsive person, according to a CHP press release. The fire burned one-acre of vegetation near the 1600 block of East Foothill Boulevard around 1:39 p.m. Open flames have been extinguished, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Firefighters were called for an outside investigation and upon arriving on scene, upgraded the call to a brush fire. The cause is under investigation. The victim forgot to set the parking brake after exiting the moving truck in the 1200 block of North Mountain View Drive around 2:20 p.m. The victim tripped as he tried to get back in to stop the truck and was run over, according to Lt. James DeMond of the Glendora Police Department. The victim’s legs were run over and the truck came to rest on top of the victim’s right leg, DeMond said. Police arrived to secure the truck while Los Angeles County firefighters used airbags to lift the truck off the victim, DeMond said. The victim was transported to Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora where he was then taken to County/USC Medical Center by helicopter. The fire, reported at 11:40 a.m., was burning on the right shoulder of the interchange. The Lone Hill Avenue on ramp to the eastbound 210 freeway is partially blocked by Los Angeles County Firefighters, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash between a red sedan and black SUV occurred in eastbound lanes around 7:55 p.m. the CHP and Glendora Police arrived to tend to the crash. A Glendora officer reportedly told CHP officers a victim was trapped inside the engulfed vehicle, according to California Highway Patrol Traffic logs. Arriving Los Angeles County Firefighters declared the woman dead at the scene. It was not immediately clear if the vehicle fire started before the collision. A Sig Alert closed the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 lanes for nearly two and a half hours during an investigation. The hazmat technicians were called out of an abundance of caution to the scene, given the incredibly potent toxicity of Fentanyl. The man overdosed and died at the scene, while an adult female was hospitalized, according to Lt. Rob Lamborghini of the Glendora Police Department. Police don’t believe that anything dangerous was found, Lamborghini said. Police and firefighters responded to a medical call inside a unit at the Rancho Glendora Mobile Villas, 1630 S. Barranca Ave., around 3:59 p.m. April 19. Officers did not enter the unit initially to investigate due to the potential hazmat situation at the scene.
