Buddy Saunders, 90, was last seen at 7 p.m. August 21 as he walked away from his home in the 1800 block of South Molokai Street in West Covina. Saunders was still missing as of 5 a.m. August 23, according to Lt. Tony Cortina of the West Covina Police Department. Saunders was last seen wearing a gray short sleeve T-shirt and gray jeans. He stands 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 120 to 130 pounds, has gray hair, green eyes and a full white beard. Jonas Elijah Nelson, 19, was last seen January 20, 2019 in the 200 block of East Sacramento Street in Altadena. Sheriff’s detectives received information that Nelson may be in the city of West Covina, the West Covina Police Department announced via social media. Nelson is 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black sweat pants and an orange hooded sweatshirt with silver reflective accents. He suffers from schizophrenia, is bipolar and suffers from catatonia disorder, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

WEST COVINA - Police released video of a person of interest seen leaving a San Dimas neighborhood after abandoning the car of a missing person.
The car was found Friday, August 23 -- one day after John Brian Mananghaya Aguila was last heard from by family members. Bloodied gloves and clothing were found during a search after the vehicle was impounded, West Covina Police said in a written statement. The driver of the 2017 Honda Civic was determined to not be Aguila.
Fingerprints obtained from the car allowed investigators to identify a person of interest.
Three people in a La Verne apartment complex in the 1400 block of Third Street were detained during a search warrant issued by the West Covina Police SWAT team. It is unclear if any of the three detainees are under arrest. John Brian Mananghaya Aguila, 28, has not been seen or heard from since August 22 at 4:30 p.m. He failed to show up to work and his being gone is out of character, West Covina Police said in a written statement. Aguila’s 2017 Honda Civic was found abandoned in San Dimas Friday, August 23. It was searched after being impounded and bloody gloves and clothing were found within, West Covina Police said. Surveillance footage showed the Civic was parked in San Dimas by a male determined to not be Aguila. The driver walked away from the car. Fingerprints collected from the Civic helped identify a person of interest. The West Covina Police SWAT team served a search warrant at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Third Street in San Dimas August 27 around 8:30 a.m. Aguila was not inside the apartment unit, West Covina Police said. It is unclear if any of the three detainees are under arrest. The man, who speaks Vietnamese, Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese, was found in the 3600 block of East Holt Avenue. He told a social worker that he came to the United States on a visa lottery with a friend, the West Covina Police Department said. Officers have not been able to link him to any missing persons report.

Garcia stand 4 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 92 pounds, has black hair, brown eyes and wore a grey jacket and blue jeans.
