Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - One person was found dead at the scene of a large-scale pallet fire in Industry early Sunday. Nothing has been publicly revealed of the person who was found dead at the fire, which was dispatched to firefighters just after 3:30 a.m. in the 14600 block of Proctor Avenue. More than 50 firefighters worked to contain the blaze, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A second-alarm response was called for additional resources to help with extinguishing difficult-to-access hotspots and a lengthy cleanup, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said. Pallets were stacked 20 feet high at the yard and roughly 50 percent of the pallets in the yard were in flames, according to L.A. County Fire radio traffic.
Firefighters were pumping more than 350 gallons per minute at one point during the initial response and requested higher water pressure to supply the numerous large-diameter hose lines. Cause investigators are examining the start of the fire.
