 PHOTO/Stock image. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - A CHP officer has a pursuit suspect at gunpoint after the motorcyclist crashed on the Fairway Drive off ramp from the eastbound 60 freeway.
Two motorcycle riders were being pursed for speed when they took off from the officer. The rider who crashed is down on the ground and is no longer being held at gunpoint, according to California Highway Patrol radio traffic. It is unclear if the second rider fled, or was stopped. Los Angeles County firefighters have been dispatched to not only the Fairway Drive off ramp, but the Nogales Drive off ramp as well. The second rider being pursued may have crashed as well, according to Officer Stephan Brandt of the CHP. No further information on the second rider is available.  PHOTO/Stock image. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - Minor injuries were reported after a Toyota Camry overturned on the westbound 60 freeway at Fullerton Road Sunday.
The collision will keep the HOV and No. 1 and 2 lanes closed for an unknown duration, the California Highway Patrol said. At least five vehicles were involved in the crash, with one of the vehicles overturning. The occupants of the overturned vehicle were able to extract themselves, the CHP said. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - A woman was arrested during a traffic stop Friday and was found carrying thousands in stolen merchandise in her car’s trunk.
The woman was pulled over by deputies during a traffic stop near the Puente Hills Mall, 1600 S. Azusa Ave., around 4 p.m. Deputies were able to connect the woman with recent burglaries from Victoria’s Secret stores, said Lt. Chris Garcia of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The woman is apparently well known by Victoria’s Secret loss prevention, said Cpt. Tim Murakami of the Sheriff’s Industry Station. During a search of the woman’s car, deputies discovered an estimated $2,000 in stolen clothing, Garcia said. The woman was arrested without incident. The woman’s name, age, city of residence and charges were not immediately available. |
