BREAKING NEWS: SUV Collides with Semi, One Person Killed

CITY OF INDUSTRY - One person in a gray Nissan SUV was killed after colliding with a semi truck on the northbound 605 Freeway at the eastbound 60 Freeway transition road Tuesday.

The crash is currently blocking the transition road to the eastbound 60. The collision is currently blocking the No. 3 lane. A light pole is also destroyed and is down across the No. 2 and 3 lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The HOV and No. 1 lanes remain open.

The crash was reported just before 4:30 p.m.

Deputy Suffers Minor Injuries During Shooting with Suspect in Industry

INDUSTRY - A traffic stop led to a shooting between a deputy and a suspect early Thursday.

The shooting was reported around 2 a.m. in the 19500 block of East Walnut Avenue July 17, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

It is unclear how the deputy somehow received minor injuries, but he was taken to a hospital for treatment. The suspect was not struck.

The suspect somehow ended up barricading in Valinda where a standoff occurred. The suspect was eventually arrested.

The circumstances leading to the traffic stop are not immediately known.

BREAKING NEWS: Former Employee detained, Accused of Gunning Down Worker at Industry Business

INDUSTRY - Deputies detained a person of interest in the murder of a man at an Industry business Monday.

Deputies detained the man upon arrival to the business in the 18600 block of Gale Avenue July 15. The victim, an Asian man found with apparent gunshot wounds to the upper torso, was found dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

“The person of interest is a former employee of the business where the victim was employed and working during the time of the incident,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in a written statement.

First responders were called to the scene around 8:49 a.m.

Anyone with information on this shooting is urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Remain anonymous by calling LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), through the P3Tips mobile app, or lacrimestoppers.org.

UPDATE: 12:32 p.m.: Homicide Detectives have confirmed one male adult died from a gunshot wound in the 18600 block of Gale Avenue.

INDUSTRY -
Deputies are investigating a reported shooting that took place at a business complex in City of Industry Monday morning.

Very little information is available but first responders were sent to the 18600 block of Gale Avenue around 8:49 a.m. Monday, July 15.

Firefighters were dispatched to the location for a gunshot victim, but Craig Little of the Los Angeles County Fire Department does not know how many victims were shot or if anyone was transported or died at the scene.

Sgt. Miguel Jimenez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station declined to provide specific details. He did not know yet if Homicide Detectives will be handling the investigation.

BREAKING NEWS: Fire Ignites Near 60 Freeway in Industry

INDUSTRY - Traffic is seemingly unaffected so far after a fire ignited deep in the flood control channel under the 60 Freeway Near Fullerton Road, Monday.

Firefighters have gone an estimated 60 to 80 feet into the flood control channel under the 60 freeway, but have yet to find the seat of the fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A Los Angeles County Fire Department Urban Search and Rescue Team has been requested.

Armed Man Barricaded Inside Industry Car Wash

INDUSTRY - Deputies and the Special Enforcement Bureau are attempting to get a man who is armed with a handgun to surrender from a car wash Monday morning.

The man is barricaded inside the car wash on the south west corner of Hacienda Boulevard and Valley Boulevard The incident began around 7:20 a.m. Monday, September 6 according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.

BREAKING NEWS: Suspect Arrested in Industry Hit & Run

INDUSTRY - Investigators announced the arrest of the driver who wounded a woman and one child and allegedly fled the scene September 28.

Investigators located the 1998-2002 silver four-door Honda Accord Thursday around 2:30 p.m. The suspect was arrested and booked at the Sheriff’s Industry Station, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Surveillance video caught the hit-and-run, which occurred at the intersection of Azusa Avenue and Gemini Street Wednesday around 1:30 p.m.

The driver, only described as a man, was southbound on Azusa Avenue while the victims were crossing eastbound from the west curb line on Gemini Street. The driver failed to stop for a red light and struck both victims who sustained minor injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect’s name is unavailable at the time this story was posted.

The suspect is still in the process of being booked, according to Lt. Kearney of the Sheriff’s Industry Station.

INDUSTRY - A man was wounded by gunfire Thursday night, apparently shot in the shoulder in the San Gabriel River bed.

Deputies are attempting to obtain a suspect description. The victim was reportedly shot in the river bed near the 605 freeway and the I-10 freeway, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic.

El Monte police officers were first called to the scene at 8:17 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies were later notified.

BREAKING NEWS: Deputies Search for Gunman After Person is Found Shot in Industry

INDUSTRY - Deputies are preparing to search by foot for a gunman who shot at least one person near the Industry Hills Recreation Center.

A helicopter is first searching by air to pick up any possible heat source left by the gunman who was apparently last seen fleeing through the wooded area west of Azusa Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department radio traffic.

First responders arrived to Azusa Avenue and Gemini Street around 5:01 p.m.

A suspect description is not publicly known, nor is the motive.

The victim’s condition is not immediately known.

BREAKING NEWS: Deputy-Involved Shooting Investigation Underway in Industry

UPDATE, 5 p.m., February 17: Investigators helped shed a little more light on the police shooting that occurred in City of Industry February 16.

​A deputy on patrol witnessed a reckless driver drive through a red light at the intersection of Gale Avenue and Azusa Avenue eastbound. The deputy attempted to locate the driver to initiate a traffic stop and eventually found the suspect had crashed into a traffic light In the 18200 block of Gale Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect attempted to flee the crash vehicle as the deputy arrived on scene. The suspect apparently was armed. The deputy open fire, but did not strike the suspect. No one was injured in this incident. The suspect was hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the crash, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The suspect’s handgun was recovered at the scene.

INDUSTRY - A major crime incident is being investigated in the area of Gale Avenue and Fullerton Road after an incident led to deputy gunfire Tuesday night.

The suspect sustained injuries considered not life-threatening during a previous incident and was taken to a nearby hospital, according to Sgt. Armando Martinez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.

The incident occurred in the 18200 block of Gale Avenue just after 7:30 p.m. February 16.

It is not yet clear what led to the shooting. A traffic collision occurred minutes before the police shooting and is likely related to the shooting, Martinez told SGV CityWatch.

A gun was reportedly recovered at the scene.

A large contingent of the deputies from surrounding Sheriff’s stations are on scene assisting with maintaining the crime scene, as well as detectives from the Sheriff’s Operation Safe Streets bureau.
