Deputies responded to the 1500 block of Gale Avenue near Hacienda Boulevard around 8:49 a.m. and detained three suspects dressed in all black inside of an SUV at gunpoint, according to Sgt. Dubusky of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s industry Station. While the witness who viewed the suspects on camera claimed they were armed with rifles and handguns, Dubusky said that at least one loaded weapon was recovered. The witness who provided details of the crime in progress to deputies said that the suspects spray-painted security cameras over to prevent them from being seen, Dubusky told SGV CityWatch. Dubusky is still awaiting further details regarding the type of weapons the suspects were armed with, as detectives are still at the scene investigating. There is currently no threat to the public. Deputies were called to a business complex near Almahurst Street and Hanover Road Monday, November 14 at 8:50 p.m. “Responding units went out there. They determined it was a Southern California Edison device. It was meant to be there, so it wasn’t a suspicious item,” according to Sgt. Dubusky of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Nearby stores were reportedly evacuated while deputies contained the scene. Members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Arson/Explosives Detail cleared the scene at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday. Investigators located the 1998-2002 silver four-door Honda Accord Thursday around 2:30 p.m. The suspect was arrested and booked at the Sheriff’s Industry Station, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Surveillance video caught the hit-and-run, which occurred at the intersection of Azusa Avenue and Gemini Street Wednesday around 1:30 p.m. The driver, only described as a man, was southbound on Azusa Avenue while the victims were crossing eastbound from the west curb line on Gemini Street. The driver failed to stop for a red light and struck both victims who sustained minor injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The suspect’s name is unavailable at the time this story was posted. The suspect is still in the process of being booked, according to Lt. Kearney of the Sheriff’s Industry Station. Deputies responding to East Valley Boulevard and South Sentous Avenue around 9:11 a.m. August 30found the man. He was declared dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Investigators initially said a suspect is unknown. Deputies are attempting to obtain a suspect description. The victim was reportedly shot in the river bed near the 605 freeway and the I-10 freeway, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. El Monte police officers were first called to the scene at 8:17 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies were later notified. Four suspects in dark hooded sweatshirts took an undisclosed amount of merchandise from Daniel’s Jewelers, 1600 S. Azusa Ave., June 11. Deputies were called to the store at 4:14 p.m., according to Sgt. Magdaleno of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. A blunt instrument was used to shatter glass display cases, Magdaleno told SGV CityWatch. Employees are performing an inventory on what was stolen, Magdaleno told SGV CityWatch. First responders were called to the 300 block of South Newquist Place south of Proctor Avenue around 11:43 p.m. May 11. The argument escalated, causing one man to cut the victim’s arm, according to Lt. Bernal of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The injury is not considered serious, Bernal told SGV CityWatch. Bernal did not know what the argument was about. A suspect has not been arrested. A description was not readily available. The child was identified as 8-year-old Phillip Rosas, a Covina resident, according to Sarah Ardalani, public information officer with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. An exam is scheduled to determine exact cause of death. The alleged drunk driver, described as a 30-year-old man, remains hospitalized with a leg injury, according to Sgt. Hernandez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. First responders were called to the scene just after 1 a.m. Sunday. The impact forced one of the vehicles up onto a sidewalk. A hydrant was sheared off in the crash. Rosas was accompanied by three others, including a 12-year-old, inside the vehicle struck by the alleged drunk driver. The suspected drunk driver was alone in the vehicle he drove. The charges he would be booked on once medically cleared are still under investigation, Hernandez told SGV CityWatch. The impact forced one or both vehicles up onto a sidewalk outside of a nearby Applebee’s. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - Three suspects accused of burglarizing railroad cars were chased along freeways and surface streets in the City of Industry area around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
The suspects were removing televisions packed inside a rail car in the 18000 block of Railroad Street March 15. A responding Sheriff’s Department helicopter scared the men off, according to Sgt. Andre Kneubuhler of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The suspects fled in a truck and were chased north on the 605 freeway from the 60 freeway. The suspects exited the 605 onto Valley Boulevard where they tried to escape on foot, according to Sheriff’s Department radio traffic. The suspects were unable to flee with the televisions once they began escaping the rail car, Kneubuhler told SGV CityWatch. The suspects’ truck was abandoned behind Satin Topless, 13079 Valley Blvd. All three suspects were caught near where the truck was abandoned. Kneubuhler was hesitant to identify the suspects, only describing them as men between 30 and 37 years old. All three men will be facing burglary and receiving stolen property charges. One suspect will additionally be charged with felony evading, Kneubuhler told SGV CityWatch. |
