Deputies detained the man upon arrival to the business in the 18600 block of Gale Avenue July 15. The victim, an Asian man found with apparent gunshot wounds to the upper torso, was found dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. “The person of interest is a former employee of the business where the victim was employed and working during the time of the incident,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in a written statement. CityWatch Editor UPDATE: 12:32 p.m.: Homicide Detectives have confirmed one male adult died from a gunshot wound in the 18600 block of Gale Avenue. INDUSTRY - Deputies are investigating a reported shooting that took place at a business complex in City of Industry Monday morning. Very little information is available but first responders were sent to the 18600 block of Gale Avenue around 8:49 a.m. Monday, July 15. Firefighters were dispatched to the location for a gunshot victim, but Craig Little of the Los Angeles County Fire Department does not know how many victims were shot or if anyone was transported or died at the scene. Sgt. Miguel Jimenez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station declined to provide specific details. He did not know yet if Homicide Detectives will be handling the investigation. Johanna Gonzalez died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Gonzalez knocked on the lobby doors to the Sheriff’s Industry Station, 150 N. Hudson Ave., around 7:40 p.m. Sunday, March 24. Deputies greeted her at the doors. “The juvenile lunged into the lobby and reached for the deputy’s holstered firearm and took possession of it. A struggle ensued between the deputies and juvenile who was armed with the deputy’s firearm. During the struggle, the juvenile suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in a written statement. Gonzalez died at the scene. Deputies were called to the home of Gonzalez’s foster parent just before 7:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Clintwood Avenue on a family disturbance that same night. “The juvenile’s foster parent reported that the juvenile was suffering from an apparent mental health crisis. Deputies responded to the scene; however, the juvenile had already left on foot before the deputies arrived,” according to the Sheriff’s Department in a written statement. The girl traveled one mile to the Industry Station. No one else was hurt during the shooting. The incident unfolded in the lobby of the industry, sheriffs station, 150 N. Hudson Ave., around 7:40 p.m. March 24. “The female Hispanic was knocking on the front door lobby. When deputies approached the front door lobby they came in contact with the female Hispanic. A altercation ensued. It is alleged that the female reached for the deputy’s , retrieved the firearm from the deputy’s holster. During the altercation, it is alleged the female suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound with what we believe to be the deputy’s firearm,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The victim may be tied to a call earlier in the day to a family disturbance. The Industry Station lobby is currently closed to visitors. All business lines and 9-1-1 lines are still operational, according to the Industry Sheriff’s Station. Deputies are attempting to obtain a suspect description. The victim was reportedly shot in the river bed near the 605 freeway and the I-10 freeway, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. El Monte police officers were first called to the scene at 8:17 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies were later notified. Deputies are sorting through a confusing patchwork of stories given by the male who suffered the gunshot and a mysterious female caller who allegedly was also injured by gunfire, according to Lt. David Petrocelli of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Los Angeles County Firefighters were dispatched to South Brea Canyon Road and Spanish Lane just before 6 a.m. February 14. Deputies had to repeatedly ask both the mysterious female caller and the wounded male how the injuries came to be. The female caller stopped answering questions and could not be located, Petrocelli told SGV CityWatch. The wounded male said he was shot by a suspect carrying a shotgun at Brea Canyon Road and Valley Boulevard. A description was given, but deputies are questioning the validity of the description as well as the location given. The wounded male was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, Petrocelli told SGV CityWatch. A nearby Ring camera reportedly recorded what sounded like gunfire in the area and are trying to pinpoint the location, Petrocelli told SGV CityWatch. Deputies found the victim, only described as a 45-year-old Hispanic man, laying on the sidewalk and suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso in the 100 block of North Azusa Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputies were called at 5 p.m. November 24. They were originally responding to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon and a man armed with a handgun. During the investigation, a bullet was located near Azusa Avenue and Glenloch Avenue north of where the shooting took place. A discarded hooded sweatshirt was also located, but it is unclear if it is tied to the shooting. A suspect remains at-large. A helicopter is first searching by air to pick up any possible heat source left by the gunman who was apparently last seen fleeing through the wooded area west of Azusa Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department radio traffic. First responders arrived to Azusa Avenue and Gemini Street around 5:01 p.m. A suspect description is not publicly known, nor is the motive. The victim’s condition is not immediately known. Two shootings occurred within the span of a few minutes. The first occurred at Gale Avenue and Hacienda Boulevard around 1:08 a.m. August 7. In Hacienda Heights. A second deputy shooting occurred in the 13300 block of Crossroads Parkway in Industry, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
