Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - A woman was hit over the head with the butt of a handgun in an attempted carjacking Sunday afternoon. A male and female were involved in the successful robbery and attempted carjacking. The victim was approached from behind and struck with the gun. An iPhone8 and a set of keys were taken from inside the victim’s vehicle at Valley Boulevard and Fullerton Road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. April 28.
The male suspect is in his 20s to 30s and is described as Hispanic, stands about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds, wears black hair and wore a dark long-sleeve shirt. The female suspect is in her 20s to 30s and is described as Black. She wore a black headband. The suspects fled south on Fullerton Road in a grey or off-color gold SUV. The carjacking occurred just before 11 p.m. The suspect used a black semi-automatic handgun to take the car, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Taken was a brown 2008 four-door Nissan Sentra. The car sported a parking sticker on the front windshield, deputies said. The suspect is described as a white man, 40 to 45 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and appeared to be homeless. The carjacking occurred in the area of Azusa Avenue and Temple Avenue around 12:29 p.m. June 17. The suspect approached the victim, pretended to have a weapon and took the car, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. About 30 minutes later, the vehicle was located parked near Rowland and Glendora Avenue in La Puente, Sheriff’s deputies said. The suspect fled deputies who located the vehicle, forcing the deputies to set a containment search aided by a helicopter, according to Sheriff's radio traffic. At least one eyewitness reported seeing a man fleeing through an apartment complex. The suspect was only described as a Hispanic man. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY – A double carjacking suspect was identified and arrested at his workplace after deputies canvassed the area where the crimes took place.
The as-of-yet unidentified suspect was arrested without incident after his workplace manager identified him to deputies. The suspect, who simulated a handgun during the alleged crimes, was found with narcotics and brass knuckles, said Sgt. David Jacobson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The suspect was taken into custody around 12:45 p.m. Friday, located at his workplace off Grand Crossing and Baker Parkway. The first carjacking took place in the In-N-Out drive-thru, 21620 Valley Blvd. around 3:30 p.m. March 13. A four-door Honda Accord was taken, Jacobson said. The suspect carjacked another victim, this time at East Lion Corporation, 318 S. Brea Canyon Rd. March 15. A Subaru Outback was taken. Deputies learned of his identity and canvassed the general areas where the two carjackings took place in an industrial area off Brea Canyon Road north of 60 freeway, Jacobson said. None of the drivers were injured in either crime. The Outback was recovered, but the Accord has yet to be found, Jacobson said. |
