The vehicle became engulfed after a mechanical issue on the Fairway Drive on ramp to the eastbound 60 freeway just before 9 a.m., according to Dispatch Supervisor Ed Pickett with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The officer was hospitalized for precautionary measures, according to Officer Elizabeth Kravig of the California Highway Patrol. A Sig Alert has been issued for an unknown duration for all westbound lanes. None of the food has spilled from the semi, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported at 9:54 p.m., according to the CHP. An unspecified sedan may have been involved in the crash. Some impatient drivers are using the Fullerton Road on ramp to exit the freeway, the CHP said. Someone was seen fleeing the scene of the crash. A police helicopter was called to search, but the suspect has not been located. |
