Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor EL MONTE - Police searched for an assault with a deadly weapon suspect after an argument inside a motel room led a man to strike his victim with a gun Wednesday night. Police were called to the assault with a deadly weapon at Motel 6, 3429 Peck Rd., at 11:52 p.m. October 16. The suspect and victim were in the room together when at some point the victim wanted the suspect gone, said Lt. Ernie Cramer of the El Monte Police Department. The victim, who paid for the room, was struck by the suspect who became mad at the request to leave, Cramer said.
Firefighters were called to examine the victim, but apparently no in juries were sustained. A West Covina Police K9 and deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau assisted with a search. The suspect fled the location and remains at-large. The crime occurred after the suspect performed a traffic stop on the woman at Durfee Avenue and Magnolia Street around 7 p.m. July 2. The suspect drove a brown or green Ford Crown Victoria car equipped with red and blue dashboard lights and a PA system, according to the El Monte Police Department. The suspect asked for the victim’s driver license and registration. While she was outside the vehicle, the victim was assaulted, El Monte Police said. The suspect drove off in an unknown direction. The suspect sported three teardrop tattoos under his right eye, an 8-ball tattoo on his neck, a Nazi/white power “triskele” tattoo on the back of his right hand and a burn mark extending from his right thumb to his wrist. The suspect is Hispanic, 30 to 40 years old stands 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds, has a muscular build, brown eyes, black hair, is unshaven and possibly sported a goatee, El Monte Police said.

EL MONTE - Investigators continue their search for a man caught on camera as he grabbed, hit and attempted to rape an 18-year-old victim Sunday.
Security camera’s from the nearby residence of Nicole Chang recorded the attack in the 3300 block of Tyler Avenue February 17 around 12:01 a.m. The suspect walked past the victim who was walking in the opposite direction. The suspect turned around and grabbed the victim from behind.

The victim was dragged down Brockway Street from the corner at Tyler Avenue. The victim fought back and hit the suspect multiple times in the face, El Monte Police said. The suspect is described as a clean-shaven Hispanic man with brown eyes. he is 30 to 40 years old, stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He wore a long-sleeve blue shirt and dark pants. EL MONTE - An assault suspect remains free today as detectives attempt to locate the man caught on camera as he attacked an 18-year-old woman Sunday.

“We heard a girl screaming at approximately 12:01am Sunday morning,” Chang wrote on her Facebook page. Chang’s husband ran out to look for the suspect, but he was already gone. The victim apparently never stopped to ask for help. El Monte Police arrived minutes later, Chang said. “After the police caught up to her, she went with them around town trying to catch the man in blue,” Chang said. The suspect is described as a clean-shaven Hispanic man with brown eyes. he is 30 to 40 years old, stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He wore a long-sleeve blue shirt and dark pants. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor EL MONTE - A mother chased away a man who attempted to kidnap two girls after assaulting one of them and exposing himself, police said.
The incident occurred June 2 around 8:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of Tyler Avenue. The mother was walking with the girls when the suspect exited his white, late 2000s Ford F-150 extended cab truck, and approached them El Monte Police said. The suspect attempted to grab one of the girls, but she ran away from the suspect. He then grabbed the second girl and touched her groin area and over her clothing while exposing his genitals, El Monte Police said. The suspect picked up the girl he assaulted and began walking away with her to his truck. The victim’s mother chased him down and said she was calling the police. The girl was released and the suspect entered his truck and drove away, El Monte Police said. The suspect is a Hispanic man, 5-foot 7 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 170 to 180 pounds, has grey and black hair, was unshaven, wore prescription glasses and a green t-shirt and black shorts.
