Police were called to Finkbiner Park, 160 N. Wabash Ave., on a reported suicide at 1:08 p.m. A deceased female was located. The area was taped off from the public for coroner investigators to work, according to the Glendora Police Department. The woman was described as being in her 50s. Her identity is being withheld until next of kin are notified, according to Sarah Ardalani, public information officer with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. It was not immediately clear where the death occurred at the park, or what led Glendora Police officers to quickly deduce that it was a suicide. The identity of the female subject will be withheld pending notification to the family. “The month of May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Los Angeles County firefighters and Glendora officers were called to an unresponsive man in a vehicle in the 600 block of South Pasadena Avenue at 5:44 p.m. April 17. Firefighters declared the man dead at the scene, according to Sgt. Stein of the Glendora Police Department. The man was identified as 33-year-old German Temiquel Castro. The cause of death has been deferred, pending additional investigation, according to Lt. Brian Kim of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Stein had no other details regarding the death, or potential causes. Brian Fischer, 34, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The cause of death has been deferred, pending additional investigation. Fischer may have been dead in the van for possibly a few days before being discovered. The person may have been dead in the van for possibly a few days before being discovered. Officers were called to investigate the U-Haul van after a person noticed a large amount of flies around the vehicle and liquids coming from it, according to Lt. Chris Stabio of the Glendora Police Department Investigations Bureau. The caller also said they thought they saw a person inside the U-Haul van. The victim is described as a man. He was pronounced dead at 9:56 a.m., according to Sarah Ardalani of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Officers were called around 9:39 a.m. to investigate the Econoline U-Haul van in the 700 block of East Claraday Street, according to Lt. Marty Barrett of the Glendora Police Department. At this point in the investigation, detectives do not believe the death resulted from anything criminal, Stabio told SGV CityWatch. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA – A man accused of domestic violence was shot and killed by police after he allegedly attempted to carjack multiple drivers and pointed a gun at police, homicide detectives said Wednesday.
Glendora officers were called to a domestic violence report after a woman claimed her boyfriend assaulted her and that he was armed with a handgun. The suspect fled the home as police arrived and he allegedly pointed the gun at them, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Glendora officers requested mutual aid from Azusa Police as a containment was set up. Arriving Azusa officers encountered the unidentified suspect, only described as a white 20-25-year-old man, as he attempted to carjack multiple drivers in the intersection of Glendora Avenue and Route 66. “The suspect turned and pointed a handgun at the officers, at which time an officer-involved shooting occurred,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The suspect was struck in the upper torso and died after being hospitalized. No one else was injured. Andre Lacroix, 74, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash on the west 210 freeway at Bonnie Cove Avenue just before 10:40 a.m. A grey Nissan Murano possibly hit the guardrail and rolled over before coming to a rest about 15 feet down the freeway, according to CHP traffic logs. Los Angeles County Firefighters performed CPR on the driver, but he died at the scene, according to the CHP. The crash occurred just before 1 a.m. on the westbound 210 freeway just east of Glendora Avenue June 14. The woman walked into the No. 4 lane of the freeway from the shoulder where the semi driver was approaching. The driver swerved to the left and the trailer he was hauling struck the woman, according to the California Highway Patrol. A Sig Alert was issued for the HOV, No. 1 and 2 lanes of traffic at 1:15 a.m. The sigalert was canceled at 4 a.m. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - Two people were killed in a reported multi-vehicle crash near the center divider on the eastbound 210 freeway just west of the 57 freeway Thursday morning.
One person was found unresponsive and down in traffic lanes on the westbound side of the freeway. It is unclear if this victim was struck in eastbound lanes and landed on the westbound side. One other victim died inside of a crash vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol. Possibly as many as six vehicles ended up being involved in a collision on the eastbound side of the 210 freeway. The crash was reported around 12:13 a.m. December 17. Authorities issued a Sig Alert at 12:46 a.m. for the HOV, No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes on the westbound side. The Sig Alert eventually encompassed all lanes on both east and westbound sides of the freeway except for slow lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol. One vehicle possibly landing on its roof after the crash. Northbound traffic on the 57 freeway near Auto Center Drive was temporarily blocked by Glendora Police for at least 30 minutes after the original crash before northbound traffic was allowed to proceed, according to the California Highway Patrol. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - One person is dead after a sedan struck a semi trailer and ignited in flames Monday night.
The sedan collided with the big rig hauling 25,000 pounds of boxes on the eastbound 210 freeway at Sunflower Avenue around 11:34 p.m. November 2. The sedan struck the semi on the curve of the freeway, spun out and came to stop on the right shoulder, according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs. A Sig Alert was issued at 12:14 a.m. for the No. 2, 3 and 4 lanes. By 3:07 a.m., all traffic lanes were open, the CHP said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor GLENDORA - The county coroner is on scene of a death reported at Grand Avenue and Baseline Road Wednesday. An investigator is looking at the death as possibly natural, according to a supervisor with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. A medical emergency was dispatched to firefighters just after 6 p.m. at a gas station at Grand Avenue and Baseline Road. A person in a truck was reportedly not breathing, according to Dispatch Supervisor Michael Pittman of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Pittman could not verify if firefighters determined a death at the scene. An SGV CityWatch reader drove by the scene and witnessed police working near a small truck. A sheet was draped over an unknown object. The Glendora Police Department could not be reached for comment. |
