Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - Authorities are investigating a deputy-involved shooting that resulted from a reported crash and domestic fight Thursday morning.
The suspect allegedly lunged after a deputy responding to the crash near 7-Eleven in the 2600 block of Pellissier Road around 3:21 a.m. The suspect tried to grab the deputy’s gun, but the deputy fought him back and opened fire, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies arriving to the crash scene saw the suspect hitting a female companion, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. The suspect fled into the nearby 7-Eleven after being shot and allegedly grabbed the female employee and barricaded himself with her inside a bathroom. The suspect surrendered and was hospitalized for his wounds. The Peck Road off ramp from the northbound 605 freeway is closed for an unknown duration during the investigation. |
