A passerby discovered the body near Workman Mill Road and Crossroads Parkway just before 8:30 a.m. December 11, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Tactical medics with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau responded to the scene. It is not publicly known if foul play is the cause of death. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is now investigating. Two shootings occurred within the span of a few minutes. The first occurred at Gale Avenue and Hacienda Boulevard around 1:08 a.m. August 7. In Hacienda Heights. A second deputy shooting occurred in the 13300 block of Crossroads Parkway in Industry, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The suspect’s condition has not been publicly shared. What led to the two separate shootings has not been shared. Deputies have just exited the flood control tunnels under Temple Avenue near Valley Boulevard after fresh, wet tracks left by the suspect disappeared. The suspect remains outstanding. Deputies originally tried to pull over the alleged DUI driver in the area of Temple Avenue and Baldwin Park Boulevard about one hour ago. The pursuit found its way to the northbound 605 freeway and eventually exited onto eastbound Live Oak Avenue where the driver evaded officers recklessly, driving on the wrong side of the road and running through stop signs through Baldwin Park. Deputies on the ground canceled their pursuit, allowing a helicopter to track the driver’s movements until he decided to flee from his SUV on foot and run into the San Gabriel River, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. The shooting occurred near Railroad Street and Azusa Avenue. Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances behind the shooting. No deputies were injured, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Industry deputies responded to the above location on a report of a person possibly hit by a train. Deputies discovered a man kneeling next to some railroad tracks. The man, armed with a knife, rose to his feet and lunged towards deputies, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. After being shot, the male was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - The driver of a vehicle that crashed at the end of a short-lived pursuit was taken into custody late Monday night, a Sheriff’s sergeant said. The driver is accused of burglarizing a sushi restaurant in Walnut at 316 N. Lemon Ave. around 10:40 p.m., according to Sgt. Davis of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. The unidentified driver was one of multiple suspects who evaded the Industry station deputies pursuing them, according to Sgt. Itani of the Sheriff’s Industry Station.
The pursuit began at the 60 freeway at Crossroads Parkway, Itani told SGV CityWatch. The pursuit driver crashed in the area of East Temple Avenue and Puente Avenue in La Puente around 11:05 p.m. It was unclear to Davis what may have been taken in the burglary. The owner was not available at the time to determine if anything was taken. Deputies were called to Los Angeles County Fire Station 43, 921 S. Stimson Ave., around 4:16 p.m. The man was taken to an area hospital and refused to cooperate with deputies, according to Lt. Chris Garcia of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Deputies were unable to obtain a suspect or vehicle description or how the man wound up with a gunshot wound. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - A person was found dead in a flood control channel Saturday morning, a Los Angeles County fire dispatch supervisor said. Firefighters responding to a medical emergency call near Baldwin Park Boulevard and Louden Lane at 9:36 a.m. found the victim unresponsive and not breathing, according to Dispatch Supervisor Art Marrujo of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. CPR was initiated, but the victim was ultimately deemed a long-term death, Marrujo told SGV CityWatch. A supervisor at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station did not have details yet regarding the death investigation and said deputies were still at the scene. The three suspects used physical force to rob their victim of a wallet and some keys in 15500 block of Salt Lake Avenue in the City of Industry just before 6 a.m., according to Lt. Chris Garcia of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s industry Station.
The suspects approached their victim in the parking lot of a business on Salt Lake Avenue, Garcia said. In addition to the ski masks, the suspects wore all dark clothing, Garcia said. Firefighters treated the victim at the scene for undisclosed injuries. The collision occurred around 12:50 p.m. October 6 at South Fullerton Road and East Gale Avenue. The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene, according to Dispatch Supervisor Ed Pickett of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Deputies are investigating if the death was accidental or suicide, according to Sgt. Matthew Shackelford of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Traffic was unaffected since the collision occurred in an area of South Fullerton Road and East Gale Avenue closed for continued work on the Fullerton Road grade separation, Shackelford said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - A depressed, suicidal man was detained after being found laying across Grand Avenue near Garcia Lane Sunday morning. A man in his mid-30s called 9-1-1 and said he wanted to hurt himself by jumping off a tall structure August 25, according to Sgt. Patrick Coussa of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. The incident unfolded just before 11 a.m. Deputies attempted to keep the man on the phone to stall him in an attempt to locate him, but he ended the call. Deputies were able to obtain a general location of his cell phone signal, Coussa said.
Deputies began searching a general area and had the California Highway Patrol search the nearby 60 freeway Grand Avenue overpass. The man was found walking along Grand Avenue. He then walked into traffic and laid down on the asphalt, Coussa said. Deputies arrived and detained the man who eventually admitted himself for a mental evaluation, Coussa said. |
