Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor PASADENA - A man was detained and taken to a hospital for an evaluation after being seen holding weapons in the 200 block of East Howard Street June 13. No crime occurred. The man was seen with weapons, which turned out to be a replica handgun and rifle, inside a vehicle around 10:36 a.m., according to Lt Max Dahlstein of the Pasadena Police Department. The man exited the vehicle and entered a residence. Police arrived en masse, along with a helicopter. A public alert was emailed to residents to avoid the 200 block of East Howard.
Officers approached the residence and ordered the man out. He was detained and eventually transported to an area hospital, Dahlstein said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor UPDATE, 11:05 a.m.: The Pasadena road closure at El Molino and Villa Street has been lifted, Pasadena Police announced at 10:53 a.m. PASADENA - Villa Street and El Molino Avenue remain closed during a collision investigation after one person died and his passenger was injured. The collision occurred around 6:42 a.m. June 13. Two vehicles collided in the intersection. The driver, described as a man in his 50s, was killed in the crash.
