“Another great job by Pasadena Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Team,” said Traffic Section Lieutenant Mark Goodman in a written statement. “Our personnel are working hard to keep the community safe.” Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor PASADENA - The Pasadena Police Department is scheduled to launch a DUI/driver license checkpoint Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. The checkpoint will take place at an undisclosed location until 3 a.m. Saturday, March 23. Checkpoint locations are based on collision statistics and the frequency of DUI arrests, the Pasadena Police Department said. “Pasadena Police Department wants to remind everyone that ‘DUI Doesn’t Just Mean Booze.’ Prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications and marijuana can all be impairing, especially in combination with alcohol or other drugs,” Pasadena Police said.
In Pasadena last year there were 84 DUI collisions which took one life and injured 58 people, Pasadena Police said. “This is our fourth DUI operation rounding out the month of March. DUI arrests are completely preventable. Avoiding arrest for DUI begins with making smart choices,” said Lieutenant Mark Goodman of Pasadena Police Department’s Traffic Section. “Make the right choice by designating a sober driver or using a taxi or ride-share service to get home safely.” Checkpoint funding is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. |
