PASADENA – Police arrested a man Sunday after they say he stole a city work truck while an employee performed maintenance at a park.

The truck was stolen around 8:23 a.m. April 26 from Villa Parke, 363 E. Villa St. The suspect hopped inside and drove off while the city worker was performing maintenance, Russo said.
Steven Garcia, an 18-year-old Los Angeles man, was found parked and sitting in the truck a couple of miles away from where it was stolen in the 400 block of North Carmelo Avenue. Officers took him into custody without incident, according to Lt. Anthony Russo of the Pasadena Police Department.

PASADENA - Deputies are frantically searching for a stolen Lincoln Navigator hearse with a body in a casket taken from an Orthodox church in the unincorporated portion of Pasadena Wednesday night.

The navigator was stolen outside of Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church, 778 S. Rosemead Blvd., around 7:45 p.m. The driver stopped there to deliver one casket and reportedly left the hearse running. The vehicle and a second casket with a body were gone when the driver returned, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Deputies do not have a suspect description, nor was the hearse seen being driven away from the church, Koerner said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has a brief message for the suspect or suspects who took the hearse:

“ To the suspect(s) driving around in a Black Lincoln Navigator stolen from the 700 blk of Rosemead Bl ... Out of all the bad decisions you have made, at least make one good one & bring back the deceased person & casket inside the Navigator.”

The black Lincoln navigator hearse has a license plate of 7ZDG618.
