All westbound lanes have been shut down for an unknown duration during an investigation, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officer Tony Polizzi of the CHP Traffic Management Center confirmed a body was in lanes of traffic. According to an earlier log on the CHP Incident Management Page, a driver reported seeing what they described as a male in all dark clothing climb over a fence on the Lake Avenue overpass. The male was dangling over the freeway. Subsequent logs reported multiple drivers striking the body in the No. 3 lane. A red semi pulling a trailer reportedly crashed into a motorcycle. The semi ran over the rider and bike. The rider is reportedly pinned under a rear axle, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred around 9:38 p.m. A secondary driver in a grey Acura sedan may have also struck the rider. It is unclear which driver struck the rider first. No further information is available. |
