Adam Youines, 35, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Youines inched the vehicle he drove towards Pasadena officers after he stopped in a strip mall parking lot in the 600 block of North Lake Avenue. Officers were compelled to fire their weapons repeatedly at him. He died at the scene. Towards the end of the pursuit, Youines could be seen in a video holding a gun to his own head. He reportedly made demands to speak to his mother. Youines was described as an armed carjacking suspect who initially led Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit in South El Monte. The pursuit reportedly lasted only minutes before it was cancelled after a deputy crashed into another vehicle before 2 a.m. Youines continued to evade authorities along surface streets and freeways in the Monrovia, Acadia and Pasadena areas. The California Highway Patrol ended their portion of the pursuit when Youines kept to surface streets. Pasadena Police began pursuing the suspect at 2:25 a.m. Monrovia Police trailed Pasadena officers who continued to pursue Youines until he stopped in the strip mall parking lot. “Detectives from the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit responded to the crime scene to commence an immediate follow-up investigation,” according to the Pasadena Police Department in a written statement. The crash involving the deputy occurred at Rosemead Boulevard and Glendon Way in Rosemead. The deputy, who was en route to the chase on the 605 freeway, was briefly hospitalized. Eric Thomas was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of a Medical Examiner-Coroner. Officers received an alert from their recently installed ShotSpotter system, which notifies law enforcement of potential gunfire at a specific location. Police also received a call of a man down around 8:48 a.m., according to the Pasadena Police Department. Thomas died at the scene in the 1700 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue May 2. Police were called around 8:42 p.m. to the location for a person down May 2. The city’s brand new Shot Spotter system also alerted police of multiple gunshots, according to Lt. Marsha Taglioretti of the Pasadena Police Department. “When our officers arrived they did find one person down, a male adult, and he was deceased,” Taglioretti told SGV CityWatch. Pasadena Police detectives have been notified and will be taking over the investigation. There is no suspect description yet available, Taglioretti told SGV CityWatch. The 15-year-old was located in the 1600 block of North Los Robles Avenue January 18 just after 3 p.m. The teen was taken to an area hospital and was described as being in critical condition, according to the Pasadena Police Department. A second shooting occurred minutes later that left a 20-year-old man wounded in the 500 block of Eldora Road. It is not publicly clear if both shootings are related. The incident unfolded in the 300 block of Villa Street around 9:46 p.m. January 16. Three men were standing outside a park in the area when a group of five males arrived in a sedan, exited the vehicle and confronted the three men, according to the Pasadena Police Department. After the confrontation, one of the males from the sedan stole a necklace from one of the three victims. As the five males reentered the sedan, one of them pulled out a handgun and opened fire, wounding one of the three victims in an arm and his back, according to the Pasadena Police Department. The 20-year-old wounded man was hospitalized. The suspects fled the scene. The wounded 27-year-old drove herself to Huntington Memorial Hospital where she was treated for her injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP officers and major crimes detectives responded to the scene on the eastbound 210 freeway at Lincoln Avenue around 7:30 p.m. after being notified by the Pasadena Police Department. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s, died in a shoot out with Pasadena officers as he attempted to flee. The man in his 70s that was shot by the suspect died after being hospitalized. The unbelievable scene began to unfold around 2:30 p.m. November 23. Police responded to the area of Orange Grove Boulevard and Sunnyslope Avenue to a report of gunfire and found the man in his 70s. He had been struck several times by gunfire, according to the Pasadena Police Department. Witnesses told officers that an armed suspect fled from the scene. In his attempt to escape, the suspect carjacked a female driver, but continued to run as officers arrived, according to the Pasadena Police Department. “Officers gave chase, made contact with the suspect, and an Officer Involved Shooting (OIS) occurred. At one point during the incident, the suspect took a second female hostage at gunpoint. The hostage was ultimately rescued, unharmed,” According to the Pasadena Police Department in a written statement. The teen was reportedly in his room in the 900 block of North Raymond Avenue Saturday around 6:12 p.m. when a bullet pierced through a window and struck him. Pasadena Police first arrived to the scene. “Life-saving measures were given by the officers. The fire department responded and quickly transported this 13-year-old to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased,” Burgess told SGV CityWatch. A suspect remains at-large. It is not publicly clear if the gun was fired at the home with intention, or if it was a stray bullet that unfortunately found a victim. Investigators have not said if they know where the gunfire came from. “The devil came to Pasadena yesterday,” Burgess said in Sunday morning interview. In a press conference November 21, Pasadena Police Chief John Perez said investigators have many hours of surveillance footage to wade through from the surrounding area to see if the gunman was nearby and that they intend to seek additional video.
