A red iPhone XR was taken by force at the Arcadia Gold Line Station, 201 N. 1st Ave., just before 9 a.m. February 27. The suspect fled on foot east on East Santa Clara Street and out of view, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau. The suspect is a Black man in his 20s and stands 6 feet 2 inches tall. He wore black clothing and red shoes. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A resident disrupted a home burglary after hearing her home’s alarm activate February 13, police said. The burglary was reported just after 9:30 a.m. on West Norman Avenue. The three suspects, described as 14-year-old, 17-year-old and 20-year-old males from Los Angeles, took a tablet and cell phone before fleeing, Arcadia Police said. The suspects were identified through the resident’s high-quality surveillance cameras. The suspects fled into a waiting vehicle, Arcadia Police said, and are still outstanding. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Police are investigating a February 8 home burglary in which an unknown suspect made off with $5,000 in cash and $7,000 in jewelry. Police responded to a burglary report at 10:29 p.m. in the 2600 block of Foss Avenue. The suspect entered through an unlocked door and made off with the goods, according to the Arcadia Police Department. It is unclear if the suspect was joined by an accomplice. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor UPDATE, Feb. 17, 11:50 p.m.: Wing Kuen Chow was found by the Los Angeles Police Department and is in the process of being reunited with his family, Arcadia Police said. ARCADIA - An 83-year-old man is being sought after his family reported him missing Sunday afternoon. Wing Kuen Chow was reported missing to officers at 4 p.m. February 17. He was last seen on an Orange Metro bus, line 78, heading to Los Angeles, according to the Arcadia Police Department. In addition to dementia, Show also takes medication for hypertension.
Chow is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 110 pounds and was last seen wearing a blue jean jacket, dark blue pants, dark golf cap and glasses. The case is currently under investigation. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A kitchen fire was handled by the sprinkler system at a seafood restaurant at the Westfield Santa Anita Mall early Friday. Firefighters were dispatched to the fire at 1:42 a.m. to EMC Seafood & Raw Bar, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., February 15. Firefighters reported a small kitchen fire that was eventually extinguished by the restaurant’s sprinkler system, according to the Arcadia Fire Department. The extent of damage was not immediately known. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A driver had to be extricated from a grey sedan after multiple vehicles collided on the westbound 210 freeway west of Santa Anita Avenue. The collision occurred just after 2:10 p.m. A grey sedan possibly spun out and struck other vehicles in the No. 2 lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Arcadia firefighters responded to the scene and used the “Jaws of Life” to extricate the driver from the grey sedan, according to the Arcadia Fire Department. The No. 3, 4 and 5 lanes were briefly blocked while the female driver was extricated, the CHP said. |
