Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Police are investigating a shooting in the 2800 block of Caroline Way Sunday.
Police have entered the rear yard of a home and discovered a conscious man in his 20s shot in the back and his left leg. Several people remaining in the rear yard are being cleared out, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic. The shooting was reported around 8:50 p.m. Two of several vehicles seen fleeing the neighborhood at high speed were stopped. One SUV had a spent shell casing inside. The driver is detained, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic. Arcadia Police are being assisted by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor REGION - A man was found dead from a gunshot wound Friday morning after reportedly calling and telling Sheriff’s deputies he would kill himself, a Sheriff’s lieutenant said. Deputies were called around 10:30 a.m. August 16 to the 9600 block of Leroy Street by a man who said he would shoot himself. Deputies found the man on the sidewalk. He died at the scene, according to Lt. Vienna of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station.
The man suffered a gunshot wound to his head, Vienna said. Coroner Investigator Nani Cholakians identified the man as William Carl Irish, 79, a resident of Arcadia. The coroner has yet to list an official cause of death. |
