Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A part-time employee of the Arcadia Recreation and Community Services Department was arrested after other employees learned of allegations of lewd acts with a girl under 14, police said. Moises Davila, 20, was arrested Friday, March 29, two days after officers were informed by the city’s community service department. Davila is accused of lewd acts with the child who attended the After School Recreation Program at Longley Way Elementary School, Arcadia Police said. Arcadia detectives spoke with several community services employees and juveniles of the program and learned of other suspicious instances between Davila and additional female juveniles, but nothing overtly sexual in nature, Arcadia Police said.
Davila was booked on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A 67-year-old Sierra Madre woman allegedly scratched a security guard during a recent protest at Santa Anita Park March 15. The battery was reported to Arcadia Police at 4:23 p.m. The guard allegedly took the protestor’s sign away. She then scratched the guard, Arcadia Police said. The protestor was issued a warning and was told to not return to the race track, Arcadia Police said.
The woman was amongst other protestors furious over the recent, numerous deaths of 22 horses at Santa Anita Park since December 26 2018. The race track is anticipating the return of live racing Friday, March 29 upon approval by the California Horse Racing Board. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Police and code enforcement officers uncovered a marijuana operation during a business license inspection Tuesday morning. The operation was taking place in the 11000 block of Clark Street. Marijuana processing, packaging and distribution was taking place outside at the property, according to the Arcadia Police Department. “Police detectives interviewed several workers inside the location during the inspection and one person was arrested for suspicion of violating Arcadia Municipal Code 6211 - License Required, as well as Arcadia Municipal Code 9104.02.030 - Marijuana Cultivation Prohibited,” Arcadia Police said in a written statement.
Dan Luo, a 35-year-old Yorba Linda man, was arrested. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Two men are accused of stealing seafood over a two-day period last month, Arcadia Police reported. Two men stole more than $1,550 worth of seafood from Arcadia Supermarket, 654 W. Duarte Rd. Officers were called to the supermarket February 24 to investigate, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The suspects are two Asian men.
One suspect is 35 to 45 years old, has black hair, a mustache and wore blue jeans, a grey long-sleeve shirt and black eye glasses. The second suspect is 40 to 45 years old. He stands 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds and has a dark complexion. |
