Baldwin Ave., found the 32-year-old man snoozing inside the vehicle just before 10:31 p.m. Police arrived and found the vehicle was reported stolen from San Bernardino, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The unidentified suspect was booked at the Arcadia Police jail. Burglarized was an El Pollo Loco, 9974 Las Tunas Dr. Police were called just before 8:25 a.m. for a commercial burglary report. A drive-thru window was pried open to gain entry, according to the Arcadia Police Department.
A cash register was damaged and unknown items were taken, Arcadia Police said. No suspect description was available. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor REGION - A man was found dead from a gunshot wound Friday morning after reportedly calling and telling Sheriff’s deputies he would kill himself, a Sheriff’s lieutenant said. Deputies were called around 10:30 a.m. August 16 to the 9600 block of Leroy Street by a man who said he would shoot himself. Deputies found the man on the sidewalk. He died at the scene, according to Lt. Vienna of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station.
The man suffered a gunshot wound to his head, Vienna said. Coroner Investigator Nani Cholakians identified the man as William Carl Irish, 79, a resident of Arcadia. The coroner has yet to list an official cause of death. The suspects fled the home in the 200 block of West Camino Real Avenue just before 2 p.m. The suspects broke a rear window to gain access to the home, according to the Arcadia Police Department.
Both men were masked. One suspect wore a black hooded sweatshirt, the other suspect a grey hooded sweatshirt. The suspects fled in a white sedan featuring dark tinted windows. The car was sent into the storefront of Arcadia Main Florist, 30 W. Las Tunas Dr., around 3:15 a.m. August 8. The driver of the rented Hyundai Elantra, an adult male, died at the scene. The driver was westbound on Las Tunas Drive from Santa Anita Avenue and struck the center median which. The vehicle careened into the floral shop, according to Sgt. Larry Peralta of the Arcadia Police Department. No one else was in the car. The grand theft was recorded at LensCrafters, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., Saturday, August 3. Police were called to the store at 4 p.m.
