Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Four teens stole two gold chains at gunpoint from their victim Tuesday night, Arcadia Police were told.
The robbery occurred at 420 N. Santa Anita Ave. sometime after 10:30 p.m. August 29. One of the suspects was armed with what appeared to be a black semiautomatic handgun, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic. Three suspects fled on foot north to an apartment complex at 21 E. Colorado Blvd. where they jumped a fence to nearby Newman Avenue. A fourth suspect escaped into a gold Lincoln SUV which was driven south on Santa Anita Avenue, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic. All four suspects were described as Latino males ranging from 14 to 15 years old. One suspect appeared 15 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 150 pounds and has short black hair with a heart shaved into the back of his head. He wore a black polo and black pants. A second suspect appeared 15 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 130 pounds and has short black hair in a bowl cut. He wore silver earrings, a black Ralph Lauren hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and black shoes. Suspect three appeared 15 years old with black puffy hair. No other description was available. The fourth suspect appeared 14 years old. He wore a blue cap. No other description was available. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A man found dead in a flood control channel Thursday morning died accidentally after attempting to crawl over a fence to gain access to an apartment complex, investigators said Friday.
The body was discovered Thursday, August 24. The man apparently was trying to gain access to the apartment complex to retrieve property from his friend’s unit that he visited the previous night, according to Det. Sanchez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. Firefighters were called to an EMS report at that location around 7:40 a.m. Thursday and left without transporting anybody, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The man was unable to walk into the property and could not drive in. He attempted to scale a fence around 8:40 p.m. the previous night and then fell in to the flood control channel. Security video from nearby led investigators to this conclusion, Sanchez told SGV CityWatch. At least five suspects reportedly took high-priced perfumes from Macy’s at the Shops at Santa Anita, 400 S. Baldwin Ave. Officers were called to the Macy’s just after 1:10 p.m. August 22. The suspects were decked out in hoodies and face masks, piling stolen merchandise into bags, while shoppers and employees looked on. The robbery video was shared on the Citizen App. The suspects fled in a black sedan. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A 21-year-old woman accused of holding a knife while advancing on an Arcadia Police officer is in stable condition Sunday after being shot.
The officer shot the woman in the upper torso after she pulled a kitchen knife tucked in her pocket, raised it above her shoulders and advanced toward the Officer, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. Arcadia. Police officers were called to a report of a person armed with a knife around 9:09 p.m. Saturday, August 12. The mother of the suspect called on her own daughter. During the investigation, the suspect was seen exiting the location. She re-entered that location only to exit one more time and she began advancing towards the officer. “The officer ordered the disturbing party to show her hands. She kept advancing toward the officer, and at one point, removed a kitchen knife from her pocket. She then began running toward the officer with the knife raised above her shoulders, holding it in a stabbing position. At this time, an officer-involved shooting occurred,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau in a written statement. Officers rendered medical aid to the suspect until paramedics, arrived to continue treatment and transported her to a nearby hospital. |
