The burglary occurred Friday, May 18in the 1900 block of Tulip Lane around 10:23 a.m. The suspects entered the home after breaking a rear sliding glass door. They ransacked through a few drawers before fleeing after realizing someone was home. It is unknown if the suspects stole any property. Descriptions of the suspects were not available. Officers detained the woman and girl after being called to a report of a suspicious person looking into a rear yard in the 100 block of West Arthur Avenue around 1 a.m. Officers found the suspicious vehicle parked in the area, Arcadia Police said. The girl's relation to the woman was not disclosed. The suspicious person clad in a hoodie was the woman’s brother and she waited for him while he committed burglaries, Arcadia Police said. “He was contacted through her phone and refused to return to the location,” Arcadia Police said in a written statement. Diane Escandon, 43, was arrested and was taken to the Arcadia jail for booking. Escandon’s brother has yet to be arrested. Huan-Chia Tseng died at Arcadia Methodist Hospital April 24, according to Lt. David Smith of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The manner of death was ruled accidental, according to a Coroner case report. Arcadia officers were called just after 10 p.m. to a residence in the 500 block of West Huntington Drive to an unresponsive woman in a pool. Officers got into the pool and retrieved her, Arcadia Police said. Arcadia Firefighters began life-saving procedures. Tseng was declared dead after arriving to Arcadia Methodist. Officers responded to Chef’s Coffee Shop, 13 E. Live Oak Ave., around 10:30 p.m., after being notified of a burglary alarm activation. Pry marks were discovered on the front door and the register was found tossed on the floor, Arcadia Police said. The suspect was caught on camera as he entered the coffee shop. He exited after discovering the register was empty. The investigation is ongoing. It is unclear what is burning, but the California Highway Patrol has shut down the HOV and No. 1 lane at Baldwin Avenue. The CHP reports the fire was burning on the tracks. The fire was reported at 3:32 p.m. At least two callers reported to the CHP that a fire was burning on the tracks at Baldwin Avenue. Arrested was Evline Bilboussian, a 38-year-old Pasadena resident. She took the package from a residence in the 400 block of West Norman Avenue just after 2:30 p.m. Officers followed the GPS signal to a vehicle parked near Baldwin Stocker Park in the 400 block of West Lemon Avenue, Arcadia Police said. The woman was found and arrested. Arcadia officers have employed a vigorous decoy package program to combat an increase in package thefts. Bicycles and packages fitted with GPS devices have been used in an effort to locate and arrest perpetrators. Bilboussian was booked on suspicion of grand theft. |
