CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - The driver of a stolen white Toyota Camry was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after initially leading South Pasadena Police officers on a pursuit. South Pasadena Police officers located the stolen Camry after receiving a Flock camera notification just before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 28. The driver allegedly refused to stop and recklessly evaded officers who called off the pursuit due to the unsafe conditions, according to Sgt. Spencer Louie of the South Pasadena Police Department. The suspect reportedly abandoned the stolen Camry in Arcadia, Louie told SGV CityWatch. Arcadia Police assisted with a search. A perimeter search for the suspect unfolded near Fairview Avenue and Hungate Lane. Details of where exactly the suspect was found and the suspect’s booking information were not readily available. CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A multi-city raid orchestrated by Arcadia Police detectives netted 19 arrests and a seizure of drugs and cash August 21. The raids, conducted at several locations within Arcadia and one in Rosemead, yielded arrests for various charges, including prostitution, pimping, possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics for sales. Drugs, including ecstasy, marijuana, cocaine, $250,000 in cash and other items related to prostitution were confiscated, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The investigation into allegations of prostitution and brothels operating in the city began in March of 2024. Detectives identified several residences: the 100 block of West Live Oak Ave, the 800 block of Arcadia Avenue and the 2700 block of Holly Avenue. The Arcadia Police Department SWAT team was assisted by SWAT teams from nearby cities. CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Foliage wasn’t the only thing found nestled in a resident’s yard July 6. A resident found a hidden camera and related equipment hidden in some bushes in their yard in the 1600 block of Oakwood Avenue. The camera appeared to be positioned to capture other homes in the neighborhood, according to the Arcadia Police Department. “Officers examined the camera and found no internal storage; however, a mobile device hotspot was connected to the camera. Based on this discovery, the camera was sending recordings to a cloud-based application,” according to the Arcadia Police Department in a written statement. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Several customers are thinking “oh thank heaven” after narrowly avoiding major injuries when a car made a dramatic entrance into a 7-Eleven June 28. An alleged drunk driver crashed a white Prius through the front entrance of the 7-Eleven, 1003 S. Baldwin Ave., around 10:30 p.m. Friday and through the convenience store. Four customers inside the store were treated for injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Multiple bags of chips and some cases of Pacifico did not survive. The uninjured driver, a 53-year-old Arcadia resident, was arrested and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence. His name was not publicly released.  Written by AARON CASTREJON
CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Four people were arrested June 9, after allegedly attempting to establish residency at someone else’s home June 9. The four suspects were confronted by the homeowner who called police to report a possible burglary in progress in the 400 block of Walnut Avenue. During a physical altercation, the homeowner fired a handgun into the air in fear of his life. One suspect was arrested outside the home, the others fled in a vehicle, but were found and arrested, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Officers were called to the home around 11:45 p.m. The homeowner called police and said he could see people inside of the home. He confronted them as they exited, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Those involved in the physical fight were treated for minor injuries, according to the Arcadia Police Department. “Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the suspects had taken over the residence, and were attempting to establish residency. All four suspects were arrested and charged with residential burglary,” according to the Arcadia Police Department in a written statement. Arrested were Uried Benitez, a 32-year-old man from Los Angeles; Stephanie Burwell, a 35-year-old woman from Baldwin Park; Phyllis Cheong, a 29-year-old woman from Los Angeles and Marisa Williams, a 31-year-old woman from Long Beach. Four masked suspects attempted to enter a closed, locked business where several people were still inside in the 100 block of East Santa Clara Street. One suspect used a weapon to shoot the glass and enter the business. One of the rounds fired into the business struck the victim in the leg, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The robbery was reported around 10:40 p.m. Friday, April 26. Once inside, the suspects robbed the victims and then escaped in a vehicle described as a newer model white or silver four-door sedan, possibly a Chrysler, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The robbery occurred at 420 N. Santa Anita Ave. sometime after 10:30 p.m. August 29. One of the suspects was armed with what appeared to be a black semiautomatic handgun, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic. Three suspects fled on foot north to an apartment complex at 21 E. Colorado Blvd. where they jumped a fence to nearby Newman Avenue. A fourth suspect escaped into a gold Lincoln SUV which was driven south on Santa Anita Avenue, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic. All four suspects were described as Latino males ranging from 14 to 15 years old. One suspect appeared 15 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 150 pounds and has short black hair with a heart shaved into the back of his head. He wore a black polo and black pants. A second suspect appeared 15 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 130 pounds and has short black hair in a bowl cut. He wore silver earrings, a black Ralph Lauren hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and black shoes. Suspect three appeared 15 years old with black puffy hair. No other description was available. The fourth suspect appeared 14 years old. He wore a blue cap. No other description was available. At least five suspects reportedly took high-priced perfumes from Macy’s at the Shops at Santa Anita, 400 S. Baldwin Ave. Officers were called to the Macy’s just after 1:10 p.m. August 22. The suspects were decked out in hoodies and face masks, piling stolen merchandise into bags, while shoppers and employees looked on. The robbery video was shared on the Citizen App. The suspects fled in a black sedan.  Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A 33-year-old woman received a laceration to her head and a puncture wound to her nose while being struck with a small axe June 19.
The 4 a.m. attack stemmed over two women fighting for the same man. During an argument at the Arcadia station, one woman pulled out a small axe and struck the other two to three times, according to Kari Mercer, public information officer for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau. Deputies were called to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena around 5:30 a.m. June 19 where the victim spilled the beans of the attack. In addition to the three-quarter inch laceration and punctured nose, the victim was also bit on her left elbow, Mercer told SGV CityWatch. Deputies located the 38-year-old suspect at the Arcadia station June 23 around 2 p.m. and arrested her. She was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Mercer told SGV CityWatch. Both victim and suspects are unhoused, Mercer told SGV CityWatch. Police said a burglary occurred at a residence in the 00 block of West Wistaria just before 2:53 p.m. Two vehicles were seen fleeing the neighborhood. One vehicle was abandoned near Sierra Madre Villa and the 210 freeway where four suspects fled on foot, but were arrested, according to the Arcadia Police Department. A second vehicle fled onto the west 210 freeway. It made it all the way to East Los Angeles where one suspect was arrested, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Arrested were:
